It’s ya boi’s 16th birthday!
Malinda looked around and frowned. It was late in the evening, but it was still surprisingly warm. “I know it’s summer and all, but we’re in the British Isles, isn’t it always supposed to rain? Where’s the cold?” she asked aloud and she started rolling up her sleeves, not thinking that perhaps it would have just been easier to take the flannel off.
“It’ll probably come in like July... I like the warmth though.”
Jenny joined him in laughter, before shaking her head at his question. “I have no idea, I don’t wear a watch, and I don’t see a clock in the immediate area; sorry.”
“We should probably get going... It’s probably late since no one else is here and I can’t get caught out past curfew again.”
“I’m pretty decent at it. Which part of it do you need help with?” she asked as they reached the kitchens for some coffee.
“Um, this stuff?” He said, flipping open his textbook to the page he had marked and placing it on a table.
“I wish I could help out more, but unfortunately, this is the one part of my job I can’t skip out on. I’m sure you’ll feel better for a little sleep.”
“It’s ok, it’s like this one time my brother Kenai, do you know him? Well Kenai and I were hiking in the woods back when I was a first year and it was getting dark and he was all ‘we have to get before we get lost Koda’ and I was all ‘but I want to stay out longer’ and he was ‘no, we have to get back or Denahi will be mad’ oh do you know Denahi? He’s a seventh year. But yeah, this kinda reminds me of then.”
“Uhm, not quite but… almost.”
The boy sighed and decided to stand up, “guess we should get going then huh?”
Olivia squealed as her bottom met the floor. “Ah, Koda!” She swatted his shoulder. “Be careful! I’ve got to make it until September before the little one can come make an official debut.”
Koda was so tired he honestly forgot, “oh shit, sorry!” He said apologetically, unable to suppress some laughter. “How is the ‘little one’ anyway? Do you know the gender? Can I feel it kicking?”
She giggled and leaned over to get a good look at Koda. “I don’t hate ya. I just enjoy a good laugh more.” She offered him a hand. “I think ya’ll live.”
Koda took her hand, smiled, then pulled her down onto the floor with him. “Yeah I’ll live!”
Sophie nodded with a smile. “I’d love to join, thank you. If your notes are a little, um, difficult to read, I can probably help tutor a little in whatever you were trying to study.”
“Really?? Are you good at History of Magic?”
“You’re, uhm… you’re welcome.”
“So what time is it? Is it past curfew yet?”
“You can sit in your dorm common room for all I care, but you can’t stay in a non house specific location like the library. The librarian gets a little strict about things like this.”
“Fiiiine.” He groaned then stood up and picked up all his papers.
Jenny tried to give him a small smile, as she shrugged. “Don’t worry about it, you don’t snore that loudly.” At her own attempt to dismiss his apology, her smile grew, and she hoped he knew she was joking.
Koda laughed, “Whew,” he pretended to wipe away sweat from his forehead. “So, what time is it?”
“There is no maybe, you fell asleep.”
“Ok, ok... Don’t have to be so angry.”
“It’s almost curfew, you’ll have to finish it back in your dorm.”
“Can’t you let me stay for five more minutes? My roommates don’t like when I keep the light on.”
“You, uhm… you were sleeping on your work…”
“Oh... Oops, well thanks for waking me!”
Two Can Keep A Secret|| Koda & Martin
Koda wasn’t sure but he was pretty sure what he was feeling was stress. With all of the school work he was stuck doing, the boy hardly felt like he had time to breathe. Finally, the week was over and the long awaited weekend was here. Usually he would spend these two days hanging out with his friends but today he decided to try to chill in his dorm. His housemates had other plans though and were constantly bugging him to come out and do things with them. After awhile he decided to leave and find a place to get alone time.
Although he knew he shouldn’t be there he decided to go to the forbidden forest. He knew the likely hood of someone else coming there was extremely low so he didn’t have to worry about getting caught. Koda’s bear form was on the smaller side, like his human form. Despite that he still enjoyed it because no one ever tried to mess with a bear. It had to be at least 70 Degrees outside so Koda decided to find a sunny spot to lay and bask for a little bit. The fifth year was glad he couldn’t get sun burnt cause he accidentally fell asleep.
What woke the boy up was the sound of footsteps. Using his enhanced sense of smell he knew that it had to be another person. Backing up into the bushes he tried to hide himself, hoping he hadn’t already been spotted by whoever it was.
It was almost curfew, so Kat was doing the final sweep of the library to see if there were any students who needed to be woken up. It didn’t surprise her at all when she found one. “Hey, it’s time to get back to your dorm.”
“But I need to finish my homework,” Koda replied groggily, looking up at the head girl.
