Grian, Gem, and Scar get Skizz and Impulse dorky little greeting cards every Father’s Day.

Grian was the one who suggested it initially, mostly as a joke, but Gem latched onto it immediately because no that would be so cute and sweet we HAVE to do that, so they grabbed Scar and dragged him out to go greeting card shopping.

Scar was the one who found the perfect card for Skizz: one that said “world’s best farter father” and was designed to make a sound when the card was opened. You can guess what sound that was. The boys lost their minds laughing and wanted to get another one for Impulse, but Gem said no, that’s too mean, we need something nicer.

She and Grian argued between silly and sentimental for a while before compromising on one that said “you’re not the step dad, you’re the dad who stepped up”. They took the cards home and each wrote personal messages on the inside and delivered them in person to Imp and Skizz.

Skizz’s reaction was just to burst into laughter, bear hug all three of them, and thank them for the card. Impulse didn’t say anything for a while. He was too busy trying to keep his composure and not break down into a blubbering mess because they thought of me they got me a card and they wrote little messages inside oh my gosh don’t cry don’t cry don’t cry

From that point on, it became a tradition.

(Bonus points: Tango eventually got roped into the Father’s Day card rotation as well, and his reaction is always a non-committal grunt and a smile that he can’t quite hide.)
