Strong armed: Strength, presence +1 Heavy Feet: Agl -2 Talent: Every Last Cent Roll d66 for extracting money from any creature that can comprehend the idea of taxation. This process is violent, grotesque, takes 5 minutes, and their next of kin would know you did it. Ability (d6): 1. Coat of the Miser: For every either tens place silver you have, your armor goes up by a die size as you sew your wealth into your coat. There is no upper limit. 2. Power of the hoard. Rest on gold to get dragon claws(d6) . Three days and get a paralysis spit (Tough save DR14, or do nothin). Do this for seven days and become a wyvern. You have one day to keep this under control. 3. Writ of foreign power. Convince people you are an important government man. News will travel to some who can call you on your bullshit in 1d4 days 4. Coin based diet: Every 10 silver counts as a ration to you. Can convince someone else it's a ration and it will work. Once. 5. Blade of 1,000 tiny cuts: Something has bonded to your wrist, acting like a whip sword. It can attack at a distance, with a DR 10, d8. Every day it demands tribute and a pearl grows into your arm. Miss a meal and lose a finger. 6. Flashing script. Everyday you make d4 counterfeit promissory notes. Presence test to make enemies roll a morale check. They will learn the checks have bounced, and will be looking for you. HOW DID YOU GET FIRED: 1. You caused a Civil war- Currently seiging the captial. Whoever wins in in a few weeks will be looking for you

2. Didnt meet quota: skimmed too much, they hired man ogre and accountant, local number racket guys. They greatly enjoy reminding you of this.

3. plague- sickness wracked the kingdom. Too deadly to collect money off them.

4. The fancy boat you commissioned. Kingdom is still trying to figure out what to do with it

5. Taxed a noble you shouldn't have. Duke Legarious now hates you. Personally.

6. They havent. You fled. Lord judge Kirza is looking into you.

Cy-Borg: Live for You Session 4

Welcome bottomfeeders and protozoa alike! This is your weekly recap of the exploits of Hadal Live, the newest generation of Killtubers as they explore the megadungeon known as Saimya Holy Livewell!

Catchup here The group made plans to go fishing, doing some idle windowshopping at the nearby dispensary, who's drug fabricator had been stolen by the Razors, the biker gang the group had previously pissed off. The group found themselves side-tracked when a mysterious, high value RCD package was left unattended in the middle of the front room, they didn't open it, but Rufus, a drifter living the foyer of the dungeon, accidently set off the glitter bomb, coating several of the members on stream. They went to the nearby juicehut to find the culprits, the Prank Boys, follower of the Killtuber Prankboy Cody. They demanded an on air-apology. The boys did not receive that well, and opened fire with mircoguns. The group learned that automatic weapons, even small ones, are no joke, nearly icing DJ megaphauna. But they ultimately triumphed.

They took the final tasered prankboy's clothing, giving them to Rufus. They then went fishing, but after hooking the fish they were seeking, were unable to secure it before it slipped the line! Ah well, better luck next time! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ First proper fight, 4 sessions in. Was plenty dangerous! Prismatic Wasteland, we need to have a talk cause this exploding encounter table isn't working, though the setup of "the more you stream, the more money you make, and the more dangerous things get" is a good one. In this case it may not work particularly well, as weird things pop up in places that don't make sense rather than "hey everyone can see you know." A better way to do it is... every floor's encounter is table one. And then beyond that it's encounters with fans, fame leeches, rival streamers, all the way up to professional haters and influencermancers. Still need to figure out what to do with the debt. What makes it difficult is that debts are random, ranging from Lou's paltry 4000 credit debt, to DJ and Jio's crushing 10,000 debt.

Cy_Borg: Live for You session 3

Welcome bottomfeeders and protozoa alike! This is your weekly recap of the exploits of Hadal Live, the newest generation of Killtubers as they explore the megadungeon known as Saimya Holy Livewell!

Learn more about our talents here! This week we had the pleasure of two new talents to Hadal Live! Pluck, the Renegade Cyberslasher -Looking to obtain and share mindfulness -Simmering with rage at all times DJ Plunderfauna, Burnt Hacker -Looking to sample field recordings to use in new tracks -in tremendous, crippling debt This week, they accepted a job put out by Lona, the primary employee of the Pyramid's sole Foodhut, asking the players to stop the local gang from breaking their windows. They headed down to the parking garage, negotiating past the thugs at the entrance, to talk with the leader of the Razors biker gang, Mortash Lavabrain, a loud man with a love for frequent and heavy drug usage. As for stopping the window breaking, our streamers had found that there were quite a lot of bikers down there, and managed to set the terms to be resolved via one-on-one combat, randomly selecting a sledgehammer duel. Pluck volunteered to fight, lost his sledgehammer, but when all hope seemed lost for his horned skull, he had a hidden garrote wire and used that to create the groups fourth viral moment when he decapitated Mortash live on stream. During the process of this fight, Lou was hard at work cutting breaks on as many motorcycles as he could get his hands on, convincing at least a few of the bikers to go for a ride, himself joining them and filming to create the groups 5th viral moment as he filmed the bikers accelerating and crashing, himself barely surviving his crash moments later. The group has received enough Viral Moments to Level up to their first tier: Bauxite! But the filming of this viral moment means that the Razors biker-gang knows who cut their brake lines. I'm sure this will turn out well for them. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Second session with a lot more people! -Generally went well again? Feeling that I may have to explicitly assign player roles, as even with the play aids present in foundry, I'm really bad at that whole "strict time records thing" particularly when moving somewhere in important -The party spent a lot of glitches to make sure Pluck didn't get his head caved in with a sledgehammer. Which is fair, though using 5+ glitches in one place, should probably have some kinda consequence on the world. Not saying tears open the angles beyond time or anything but... places should be weird. -Was not prepared for the vehicle filming challenge at the end. To be fair, chase mechanics have always been a mixed bag in TTRPGS. And while CY_BORG does have the Full Auto ruleset, busting out a new subsystem feels like a poor choice for the last 30 minutes of a game. Instead I just had them roll agility against the bikers, where Lou managed to capture most of the footage before crashing, the rest of the group’s glitches going to saving him from becoming street pizza. Kinda worked but… thinking that I can do something more interesting in the future, should something unexpected like this arise.

-Jobs, the relatively direct quests are nice, but I think I would like them to be longer and more complicated. The kinda thing where they have to do a deeper trek. Hoping that becomes easier as they explore deeper floors?

A short stream this week, the group decided to go fishing in the main pond of the Livewell. They managed to hook a poisonous Forsaken Mudskipper, creating a Viral Moment when Lou smashed it with a sledgehammer, home running it against a signboard. The party also had their first run-in with a rival Killtubers, TradigDIE, a greek themed killtuber group also intent on fishing, and none too happy to find Hadal Live in their spot. Realizing the value of the discretion, the group moved back to the entrance pond for a little more fishing.

While there, they managed catch a toxic Aboreal Frogsnake, and as a reward from chat, they got to doxx anyone in the room... unfortunately it was Gul, for whom chat learned of his land-sickness. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

-Even shorter session, but still had a good time!

-Chat now has some default buttons for automated reactions, which is fun, though I'm awful at scripting languages so it won't be anything too fancy. -Fiskborg mostly works just as good in Cy_Borg as it does in Mork Borg, however the fish really don't stand much of a chance if automatic weapons are brought into play. -Considering using lifestyle expenses for players, though -Party is being very careful, considering how fragile most of them are. Entirely warranted.

This is your weekly recap of the exploits of Hadal Live, the newest generation of Killtubers (streaming freelance mercenaries) as they explore the megadungeon known as Saimya Holy Livewell, a tremendous complex of failed commercial endeavors. First, the let's introduce the talent thus far! Gul, the Discharged Corp-Killer -Former frogman, packing more arms and armor than the rest of the entire group combined. -Seems to have taken on the role of groups chaperone? Lou Ditte, the Seething Luddite -A brash greaser with wonderful hair, a sledgehammer and 6 difference engines. -Most willing to take point, both with and without goading from chat Jio, the Brain Dancer -Camerawoman of the group, also the most social -Has a robot dog with more HP than she does Their first stream saw them following a quest to get some spicy justice, with the objective of pepperspraying a specific mallcop. They took to exploring the entrance hall of the Livewell, creating their first Viral Moment as Lou Ditte bet chat he could fish a ton of coins from the fountain the lobby, only to fail and have his hands attacked by fish. After Gul caught and fried one of the fish at a nearby fast food eatery, the parties camera batteries began to burn low, the group booking it through the tremendous fishing grounds of the Livewell towards Edgeway, the discount sword dispensary where mall cops where known to hang out. After sweet talking the target away from his friends, they managed to to not only pepperspray the target on camera, creating the groups second Viral Moment of the stream, but a extremely lucky chat donation allowed them to Doxx the mallcop before fleeing out of a nearby entrance. What will they do with this blackmail material and new found rewards? Join us next week to find out~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So as you can imagine, players-as-streamers is definitely reaching into uncharted territory, but the first sessions, while brief, was extremely promising. -XP-as-Viral Moments turned out to work excellently, as players will note down what they think quality as viral moments. (Thanks to Z-Scribe on the Mork Borg discord for helping out with that system, which I will expand upon in a future post). It also as the side benefit of creating a log of what players found to be the most exciting/entertaining moments of the steam. -The batteries-as-torches system also worked as intended, with the players both realizing that if they aren't on stream, they aren't collecting Viral Moments, or chat donations, which really encourages them to up the antics. -The group also loved talking with chat, though as a GM, I will definitely need to build up the tools for both the chat's interactivity, as well as setting some canned responses. And also some tables to have the chat be more... chaotic? It was only helpful this session, and I feel like it should be more of a blessing and a curse, if possible. -Things that need to be addressed... well the first floor probably probably be a bit bigger, with the central chamber only being one room means they can move pretty fast to most places in the complex. It's the first level so it's not a huge deal, but mall-as-dungeon needs a lot of work to give a proper labyrinthine experience. Feel free to ask about anything that I may have left out, there's a lot of different wielded together bits.

A short game about hard choices at the center of the earth.

Alright so, I have developed a solution to my question of "What would replace torches and light in a cyberpunk megadungeon?" Granted, the answer does require a a particular framing device:

The players are live streamers.

That's right, they dive into the ruined husk of a megamall not to fight dragons and loot gold, but get into shootouts with influencers and get donations from an audience that wants to live vicariously through their unrestrained, violent lifestyle.

Which, in the dystopic cyberfuture, requires two things: An Eqbalian Omnicam, the powerful, self stabilizing 8k60fps-connects-anywhere camera of the future. The lifeblood connection between you and your audience. It's very important who's handling the camera, where they are looking, and what they are choosing both show, and not show.

The second element, is the Omnicam's big, heavy, proprietary and combustible batteries. However, they do have some interesting alternative uses! They can power any Eqbal branded device (door, vending machine, zamboni) with a strong change it will work (at least for a little while). Additionally, can be used as improvised explosives (though voiding the warranty on stream is probably a bad idea.) and just need to be exposed to heat, or wired up to a non Eqbal device.

And it should be noted, these would be rare in the megadungeon, being mostly in the possession of other streamers. Which gives an interesting dynamic of hunting down rivals for their batteries… or the players themselves being the hunted ones.

I think between money, health, and batteries, you have a pretty healthy spread for ways to tax players in a cyberpunk megadungeon.
