And of course,

I just read the last post I posted before the post before this one (wow what a mouthful, take time to digest that one) and the ideas I talked about were almost the same as the one I just wrote out before this one. Gosh, I look silly. I can’t keep ruminating on the same problems and not have anything to show for it the next time around. What good does that do me? And I end up just looking like a talker who doesn’t want to put in the work.

I’m going to start by reading ONE page of that book I haven’t read in a week.

I really suck at sticking to habits

I tell myself to practice writing, but I don’t do it. I guess in a sense it’s because I am preoccupied with trying to stick to other habits I tell myself to do, like paint every day, practice art everyday, listen to an audiobook everyday, read ONE page of this book I’ve been reading forever, sing everyday. And guess what, I don’t even do all of those habits every day. A few of them, I actually haven’t done in about a week. The only one I’ve been consistent on is the painting/practice art every day. 

I think I have this problem of not being able to do so many things all the time, and I end up feeling like there’s too little time to do all the things I want to do. I probably have a big issue with time management and not doing things fast enough. There has to be a system where I can get more done more efficiently.

I guess I should be writing a little bit

I’m trying to figure out how to make myself grow more as a person, and there’s all these things I’m trying to tackle at the same time while getting overwhelmed, but I know I should just take things little by little, and as long as I make small incremental steps, actionable steps, then I’ve gotten somewhere. Instead of just looking everywhere and filling my head with possibilities, I should just do something. Start that website. Write that post. Write that article. Practice writing. Print out that resignation letter. Motivation doesn’t help if it doesn’t get you anywhere, if it doesn’t lead to results. 

I want to get better at art. I want to get better at writing. I want to have more of an online presence and be recognized for doing work that I love. I want to start making money in different ways. 

So what am I going to do about it? 

I’m going to just take the leap and do a little bit everyday in each category that will put me down the path of the goal I want. I will have to better time manage my time so that I can tackle each respective part of my goals. I have to get over this severe bit of imposter syndrome I have going on here.

Day 13 - Instead of just a sketch, I did this in my bujo. I kinda sketched the flowers so it counts right?

Day 12 - Pretty much one of my most favorite books ever.

Day 11. Today's sketch ended up being painted over. I'm starting to play with paints and art and all that good stuff......so yeah.

I'm gonna go ahead and paint the rest of the page.

So not really a sketch, more like a painting.

Day 10. I almost forgot to do this and it's an hour before midnight now so I just made it whew. Quick sketch of my tripod.

Day 8. It was almost the end of the day since I spent the entirety of my afternoon filling in that wardrobe inventory spreadsheet I made last month FINALLY... finally starting to do an inventory of my wardrobe so I can break down what I have and might not need to still need. And somehow that took up much of my day. I need to work on working efficiently and making good use of my time and not being such a slow poke with things. At least I finished listening to Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets while I was doing it. I was playing audiobooks at the same time in an attempt to feel extra productive. Yay me?

Day #5. I'm on a roll.

Take a good look around you. Do you like where you are? Then take a good look at where you wanna be, where you might feel everything is alright with the world, or all your dreams have come true. Can you see it? What's stopping you from getting where you are to there?

Day #4. Hopefully that looks like a kind of lampshade attached to the wall. My family's basement has 4 of these. Maybe 5 actually? I don't feel like actually getting up to check because there might be a fifth one down the hall.

Day #3! I kinda messed up at the very top of the ukelele. Can't write in the "Makala" brand name. And I can't fix it now without making the whole thing look ugly. Oops.

I totally did not flake out on day 2! Yay me.

It's probably a a lot tougher to tell what I drew this time haha.

I'm going to make it a point to literally sketch one thing in my little sketchbook every single day of one thing I see around me at home.

Not using anything fancy, just one of my favorite MUJI pens.

My love of sticking to what I say I'm going to do goes up and down like the worst roller coaster ever over the last week, so I'm starting small and posting my progress here, because hopefully tumblr will come find me and yell at me for not sticking to this.

Anyway, day 1. You can totally tell what this is a sketch of right? (Hint: It's something you should make sure you're having each day! Something that I forget.)
