Strange, moody paintings of imaginary grottos and caves by Rombout van Troyen (c 1605 - 1655), a Dutch artist. His biographical details appear to be scant, but from his surviving paintings it looks like he was much more interested in the settings people occupied than the people themselves. Just a bit of material I’ve dug up while looking for historical supplements for Bloodborne.
