I, like many, have had a ton of issues with tumblr and the changes they’ve made over the years. I guess we’re finally getting rid of the porn bots, at a cost.

This is shitty, especially for artists and the format of tumblr has a lot of edge over something like twitter, which is why I’ve always been hesitant to make that transition.

Regardless, tumblr tested my patience for a long time and the site mostly just stagnated or got worse before it improved and it’s gonna keep going like that regardless of if it’s SFW or not.

Tumblr introduced me to fandoms and a ton of lovely people, I’m grateful for that but I won’t miss this site in the slightest, especially if a similar alternative comes around.

So…Here we are. The end of my Blog, not by choice, but by sheer force.

I could go on about how Tumblr’s method of going about this is a total waste of effort, They took the most asinine route of making Porn illegal on site. And i could absolutely go on for years about how they’re trying to get rid of a few wild dogs by burning down the forest, By Deleting ALL adult content, when attempting to get rid of CP/Pedo Blogs.

The thing is, i get it. Trying to allow a NSFW Community with a SFW Community is a balancing stick that is hard as ever to get. And if the ideal is to remove the voice of one side, then fine. I know when im not wanted, and sadly, it seems many of the artists i love and cherish who have done Nothing Wrong agree.

So, consider this the official announcement. Im quitting tumblr. I cant be expected to write, with the fear of being banned, or flagged over my head every second.

Dont consider this an End to Velvet Island though. In a way, it lives. It lives in the hearts of those who carry it on.

In the meantime though, In order to keep up with me;
