This is great and all, but what’s missing in the lineup (and in the market) is a 24" 4K display that takes classic lightning / DisplayPort and USB-C. Assume that all of the Mac bumps next year will include USB-C ports; at some point the monitors need to follow.

Agreed. Pretty weird roll-out strategy.

Not weird at all. Apple will be wanting to do a 27" retina Thunderbolt Display. This will need to be 5k, like the iMac. This will require Thunderbolt 3 for the display to be driven my one cable. Thunderbolt 3 isn't out yet.

As soon as we have Thunderbolt 3 Macs, we will have retina Thunderbolt Display.
