Zombies, Run! is one of, if not the only, fandom that has truly stuck with me for life. This October will be 11 years since I first downloaded the app and I cannot imagine who I would be without it. Maxine & Paula's arc helped me come to terms with being queer and loving my first girlfriend when I was 16. Getting to put on my headphones and escape into this world made the difference between me toughing out my first miserable year of college or giving up and moving back home. Sometimes life happens and I fall off for a month or a year or more but Abel has always welcomed me back like I never left. Even now, over a decade after I first downloaded this app.
Anyway I just love these characters and this story so deeply and I hope the creators know how much of a difference they have made by placing this in the world. I am so happy to be runner 5.
