I love this photo and snake. Happy Halloween.
maybe this makes me a loser but i had to do it. i had a photoshoot with my snakes and all the pumpkins and gourds my boyfriend bought for me.
here’s a few of Mars
Ladder Snake (Rhinechis scalaris), found in a variety of habitats, on the Iberian Peninsula and in Southern France. They feed on small mammals, birds, eggs, and reptiles. They are egg layers (oviparous). They reach a maximum length of 160 cm.

Javelin Sand Boa (Eryx jaculus), found in Southern and Eastern Europe, The Middle East, and North Africa. They reach a ttl of 80 cm. As the names suggests, they are found in habitats with sand loose soils, where they can easily burrow.

HEY SNAKE TUMBLR
does anyone know how to keep up the ambient temperatures on the cool side of a ball python enclosure without either a) paying massive heating bills to heat the whole apartment or b) risk burning down said apartment by leaving a space heater unattended?
winter in...
Fyballpythons nailed it. Get a small ceramic heater and place near the enclosure. That will raise ambient temps and not kill your budget.
/Halloween acknowledged.
I don’t have any pumpkins so here’s Cato with several tangelos that probably have an equivalent mass and enough orange to equal one small pumpkin.
/Ending acknowledgement.
