"Get that?" Harry said casually as an owl brought their issue of The Quibbler.
Severus took the paper from the owl, offering a rasher of bacon.
"Anything interesting?" Harry asked, voice curious.
"It is The Quibbler," Severus rolled his eyes. "What could be interesting?"
"You know better," Harry chided. "Luna has worked hard to have at least some real news."
Severus huffed but nodded. "She does. It is not as... specious as it used to be."
"Exactly!" Harry nodded. "So. Anything interesting?"
Severus idly opened the paper then stopped.
Happy Birthday, Severus! / Love, Harry blazed across the front page.
Harry could no longer hide his grin. He leaned in to kiss Severus' stunned face.
"Happy Birthday," Harry said softly.
"It feels unseemly that everyone would know it is my birthday," Severus frowned.
Harry giggled. "This is only for you," he admitted. "I asked Luna to print a special cover page that she sent only to us."
"Brat!" But Severus sounded relieved. He snagged Harry's hand and sat Harry on his knee. Harry automatically draped his arms about Severus. "Then, thank you for your efforts."
Harry leaned in for a longer, fierce kiss. "We could take this to the bedroom..."
"Happy Birthday for both of us," Harry said, some time later. They were both sweaty and sated.
Another kiss. "You are a menace," Severus gave a small smile.
"I just wanted to make your birthday special," Harry replied.
"Not to be overly sentimental, but every day with you is special," Severus admitted.
"Awww...." Harry cooed. He snuggled closer to Severus. "We should spend the day here."
"Except our friends are expecting us for dinner," Severus pointed out.
"I guess we would have to get up to eat at some point," Harry sighed.
"True," Severus nodded. "But until then..."
