"I don’t know, just thinking." She said while looking at her hands "Do you wanna hang out today?"
"Sure, I mean we do share the same room."
I don’t make them happy enough.
Well you can't expect yourself to always make someone happy. Sometimes people just get sad.
I just want to make people happy.
You do. Even if you don't notice. You do.
I-I guess I’m just feeling kinda sad tonight..
Why is that Alex?
'Lucky you, I've been up for hours.”
"What kept you up?"
----
hey, what’s everyone up to today?
"I literally just woke up."
"I heard" she said a nervously while looking at her feet.
She smiled, but then looked at her seriously. "I've got one rule." She said, "Don't mettle with my stuff."
"I hope he knows how much I love him."
"I'm sure he does, but remind him. Show him. Make it be drilled into his head that you love him."
'hey' she smiled back shyly
"I'm Arabella, your roommate." She said.
"Alex is— Alex is a special person. I love him with all my heart. He’ll probably break up with me once he realizes that I’m trash, but I’ll cherish every moment I have with him until then. He is the sun and I am the moon, I can only reflect what he radiates.’
"And it's that kind of love that is beautiful. The unconditional love. The love you can't control. What you two have-- it's honestly amazing. Absolutely."
He smiled. “How about you, me, and Alex go up onto the roof tomorrow night. I can use my week’s privilege for that instead of walking to the park. This nurse, Natalie, she’s really sweet to me. Kind of like a mom. She’s very fluid with my privileges.”
She looked as if she was given something sweet and without wasting a minute, she nodded her head. "That'd honestly be the nicest thing. No one really minds me that much. I'm just kind of here. So yes, that sounds wonderful." She said with much sincerity in her tone. "You know, I will say that I am quite jealous of you two. You both might be falling apart from the inside out, but you end up holding each other together."
"That’s nice. I try lots of different things. I go from galaxies to roses to demons to french men to people at parks to elderly couples to children being dicks to each other. It’s a lot of different things and I like it."
"Galaxies are always fun. You can take it many different ways. Different nebulas...stars...just...anything." Arabella said breathlessly, grinning proudly as she looked up at Zach.
If you had to suggest a tattoo for me based on what you know of me, what would it be?
Zach was blushing at the compliment. “Thank you. I get that. It’s nice to have an outlet.”
She bit her lip and half-smiled at the paintings. "Honest-- I think these might be better than mine. Mostly mine consist of paintings of smokers or some Arctic Monkeys lyric I decided I liked."
Zach smiled and got his paintings out.”I don’t know when I got into the whole art thing. I was really young, it was an outlet for me.”
She let her finger caress the paint that was left dry on the canvas. "These are honestly-- amazing." Arabella answered truthfully. "It was an outlet for me too.. It was kind of something that happened, ya'know?"
Zach motioned towards his wall full of posters. “I can’t afford real posters, I made all of those. I have some oil paintings under my bed if you’d like to look at them.”
Arabella grinned, "I took up painting when I was around 13 or maybe 14...whenever I really began to notice things." She awed at the paintings. "It calms me you know? Of course I'd love to see more."
