and no this does not mean that i want fat characters who have jokes made about their fat. i want fat girls who are seen as beautiful and not a single comment about their weight is ever made.

I want girls of all sizes. Fat, athletic, skinny, stocky, short, tall and all in between. I want women of every shade and color. I want women who are comfortable in their skin, despite if they look like everyone or no one. I want to be represented by women who know that their worth is not based on looks, but who also know that they're freaking hot just being their own amazing self.

If someone murders a pregnant woman and her fetus dies as well, that person can be convicted of double homicide; if a woman goes out of her way to abort a fetus, the world is silent. Words like kill, murder, death, are taboo. What’s the difference? One child was wanted, the other was not.

I’m tired of people not being wanted. I’ve never met a person who wasn’t shining like the sun. There’s something beautiful about human beings, just being.

@feministsagainstviolence What about women who do not have enough money to take care of a child? What about women who were raped and ended up pregnant? What about women who are not emotionally ready to have a child? you can’t claim to care about the mother’s life and be pro-life.

I’ll take these one at a time.

#1: What about women who do not have enough money to take care of a child? No woman should ever feel the need to resort to violence because of financial stress. We don’t justify any other violence because of it (i.e. if a woman attempted to kill her toddler in an attempt to “spare” it from a life a poverty, we would consider it inexcusable), so why is abortion any different? The possibility of having a rough life is not a reason to kill a human being. There are pregnancy resource centers all across the nation that focus on providing the financial, material, and emotional support necessary to make the best life for both woman and child. Here’s a few websites that will help find a PRC near you. Keep in mind, any of these resource centers are capable of aiding through the adoption process if that is a preferred option.

#2: What about women who were raped and ended up pregnant? You mean women like Joyce McCauley-Benner? Heather Gemmen Wilson? Analyn Megison? Each of these women suffered through the absolute atrocity that is rape. They exhibited an incredible amount of strength (females truly are strong as hell) and overcame their difficult circumstances. For them, the creation of a new life was the silver lining in a very dark situation.

You see, I want every victim of rape to get the best possible care available. (Btw, if you are a victim of sexual assault, go here to find help near you). Rape is one of the worst things that exists in this world, and I hope that we do all we can to stop it from ever happening — but as of right now, it still happens, and it is imperative that we support victims. They need to be surrounded by love and support after suffering through such violence. That being said, violence does not solve violence. Abortion will not help the mother heal, it will not diminish the trauma of rape. It will only add to the unnecessary violence by killing an innocent human being and leaving the woman both scarred from rape and scarred by the death of her preborn child. That is not care. Care is making sure that all human beings involved get the best opportunities at life. 

#3: What about women who are not emotionally ready to have a child?  I don’t believe there is a parent on earth that can honestly say they were 100% ready to have a child. We all feel unprepared in one way or another. Luckily, many of the PRCs I linked to above also list parenting classes among the various resources they provide. Feeling unprepared doesn’t justify violence.

Denying basic human rights (like the right to life) to any group of human beings is antithetical to equality.

For an awesome project entitled Animeyed, Budapest-based photographer Flora Borsi created a series of striking self-portraits for which she used digital photo manipulation to overlap part of her face with an animal so that one of their eyes becomes her own.

“The eyes of animals like snakes, cats, rabbits, fish, and birds bring out different animalistic qualities of Borsi’s character, who matches their persona with colorful makeup and hair styles.”

Harry Potter College AU:

There is hope. That is all Draco can think. There is hope. If Potter can find it in him to forgive Draco, they can have whatever they want. So he makes this into an apology. He doesn’t continue to laugh, he sobers himself up and he lays it all out there. Because even as Potter confessed to loving him, things might have gotten too bad already. But, Draco thinks, there is hope. 

Harry would’ve forgiven him in a heart beat but hearing Malfoy say the words, hearing him actually mean it, makes him lose his breath. It’s probably the most sincere Malfoy’s ever been with him while sober and it’s so damn nice. He gets stunned for a few moments. Then he just doesn’t understand why they aren’t kissing already?
