obsessed with every band of brothers episode being like here’s these guys going through absolute hell. oh and we’re gonna introduce one (1) new homoerotic situationship per episode as a b plot. you think the fanfic writers are tumblr-fying this show but they’re not at all it’s just Like That
so sad to remember not everyone has experienced the epic highs (speirs running through foy) and lows (jimmy fallon jumpscare) of band of brothers.

actually im gonna add to it and say that whether it was real dick winters' meddling, the writers pulling some questionable choices, a different time or whatever, the lack of rage in band of brothers stands out SO much in comparison to many others pieces of war media. you don't even have to leave the hbo war context to find them. the pacific and generation kill are endlessly filled with ugly, rotten, despicable rage — sure, some characters are much more perpetually angry than others (think leckie, sledge, ray, trombley) but the difference in comparison with band of brothers is honestly insane.
each time a character is on edge or furiously illustrating a point they're shut off (think webster yelling at the surrendered germans, liebgott and the prisoners, hell. liebgott's entire character). there's anger but it's contained, reserved only towards incompetent officers or fellow soldiers alike (sobel, frank telling o'keefe off). there's no pure hatred towards the enemy or the USA war machine that put them where they are. and it's supposed to be ugly — you're not meant to celebrate each time someone goes on a rant against basically everything in the pacific — but this was true to its time, it's true to soldiers now; to take that away, or worse, try to make an example out of it is something I feel band of brothers has failed in.
