Day 4.
day 3
Inktober #2
My first Inktober ever is a shitty in-class doodle because midterms. I drew generic art school girl!
Fake infomercial made for my photo class. We were assigned to create a commercial, so my group did this. All hail Susan.
Some vlogs from my trip to Vietnam. Enjoy!
A short documentary I made about the Special Needs Aquatic Program (SNAP), a program at which I've been volunteering for the past two years. The program’s goal is to provide children with special needs a place to exercise, make friends, and have fun. It’s an organization very near and dear to my heart because of all the beautiful people I've met and unforgettable experiences I’ve had there. GO SNAP!!
“Portrait of a Place” assignment and a teaser for my main project. Thanks to Jenny and Sarah for being so awesome throughout all my video projects!
A group video installation I helped create that explores the commercial exploitation of female sexuality in the music industry. It actually looked really cool in real life and I’m proud of how it turned out! Not sure if video does it justice, but trust me, it looked cool in real life.
The first video I’ve ever made.
A quick painting I did of Hanoi rooftops in the fog before a monsoon. Definitely going to revisit this one because I think with more deeper values and contrast in the foreground it could look really cool. Oil on canvas.
A large painting of one of Kendall Jenner’s selfies because why not. I told my critique that it about the celebrity worship and the juxtaposition of selfie culture with fine art but really my brain is just pop culture trash. Acrylic on canvas.
Ice cream painting?? Definitely going to re-visit this one because I’m not happy with the background or the sleeve, so it’s pretty much still a work in progress. Oil on canvas 3x3ft.
A purple disaster I splatter painted at 3am. Oil on canvas. 3x3ft.
Unconventional materials challenge. I decided to paint ten different animal skulls using food from their native area mixed with homemade paint (flour+salt+water) and acrylic with backdrops the colors of their home country’s flag.
Animal, food, country- left to right, top to bottom:
1. European rabbit, oregano, Greece
2. moose, olive oil, Georgia (I was gonna use wine for this one but was cheap and lazy)
3. albatross, cocoa, Mexico
4. Asian elephant, curry, Vietnam
5. Bengal tiger, cinnamon, Bangladesh
6. coyote, paprika, New World
7. giraffe, tamarind, Tanzania
8. panda, soy sauce, China
9. common dophin, coffee, Yemen
10. mouse-eared bat, green tea, China
