Day 1 of my new role in this company...and this is a little welcome pack from my boss! So thoughtful. I have feeling this job will make me uber happy :)
We have finally made the decision to sell our first little family SUV. Along with Rod's new job, he was given a company car...so this little Honda needs to find a new home. As we are reluctantly selling it (it's a great and economical car, and holds some precious memories...like bringing Cooper home at 4 days young), we have put very little effort into the process. For a couple of weeks now, we have parked it with a for sale sign, at a vacant lot near our house. It has a lot of traffic go past for the nearby markets and shops. We have had a couple of enquiries, but no big fish. Last week, we were driving past it on our way to dropping the boys off at school...Hayden was keeping a watchful eye on our car, when he shouted, 'look Mum!!! A rainbow is straight over our silver car!'. It was a nice little sign that our beloved car is our treasure, but it has to move onto a new home and start some new beginnings.... ...and last night, we sold it to a gorgeous young couple. Goodbye 'silver car' - thanks for keeping our little family safe all these years. Enjoy the next decade! X
As Rod has been away for work a lot these last few weeks, we have been FaceTiming him every 2 minutes. Something is seriously wrong with our connection though as he looks like this in every call. Not really the 'good morning!' face the kids are missing! Tahlia asked 'why does Daddy have 2 rows of eyebrows?'
A new favourite towel in this house. Yep. I just posted about a tea towel.
Rod took the boys out on Sunday to do the weekly groceries (while Tahlia and I cuddled in bed for a little day nap - the best!). Our local shopping centre was running a little 'make your own pizza' stall. Of course, the boys were super eager to participate (as lunch had been 20 minutes earlier and they were already starving!)...so off they went. Look how adoringly Hayden is looking at the pizza...and even his Italian talking hands in that last photo just crack me up! (There's no doubt in my mind Hayden was Italian in a past life)
right?
right.
For my cousin Melissa - since we discussed this very issue on Skype the other night. Loooook - it's in a proper fancy sign!!!! So it must be true. Yep. Definitely! x
They’ll understand if they have #kids! Get the facts about Baby’s sleep habits. #sleep #baby #quote #parenting
Ha! This one is for my sister Rebecca. Love you and your little babies to bits! x
Cooper: "Mum, is it true that two girls can like the same boy?" Me: "Yes honey, that can happen...in fact, when I met your Dad, THREE girls liked him!" Cooper: "So how did he decide which one to pick? Did you all do 'rock, paper, scissors'?"
After 15 years of working for the same company, I decided it was time for a change. The company saw me through some amazing milestones...graduating from university, meeting my husband, my first car (my first accident!), overseas travel, several promotions, a wedding, a new home (a mortgage!), and the biggest one...supporting me when I started a family and had the children. It was SO good to me. I am now ready to spread my wings and try something that is out of my comfort zone. I am ready for the next career challenge. So here I am. After a 3 month break, I am ready to sink my teeth into this job and give it all I've got! So, here I am. Let's see how this journey goes. Wish me luck!!! X
A few months ago Tahlia started doing a Mums and Bubs ballet class each Friday morning. She loves it {understatement}! It's all she talks about all week - asking if she has ballet the next day...starting from Friday night {that's a looooong 7 days of waiting!}, doing all the little moves and positions, and asking what her ballet teacher is doing each day.
Every single Friday morning at 6.30am you can bet that she'll lay a kiss on your cheek, blurting out 'I have ballet today', and she'd be already dressed in her latest ballet ensemble. It is the cutest thing waking up to this girl...let alone this girl in a tutu!
We love our Fridays together, and our ballet sessions have made them even more special.
We were lucky enough to have Rod come along a couple of weeks back, and he took these snaps which I will treasure forever.
Now, let's see how many 'first positions' and 'arabesques' we can squeeze into this week...

The other day I mentioned to Tahlia that we should head outside and water the flowers...she promptly popped on her boots and asked me to fill her watering can. Then she proceeded to hold EVERY single flower in our garden and water them directly. I love it when kids take what you say so literally! Beautiful.
Coffee {warm chocolates} and donuts is made even more fun by these two! X Zach @ 1y10m and Tahlia @ 2y10
My love for this girl has grown a million-fold when she named her favourite fruit after me. We proceeded to eat 20 'kafrin-fruits' to celebrate!
I was in the city yesterday for a networking meeting. It was one of those days where I was dragging myself around and questioning whether I should postpone the meeting... Then, by mid-morning I {put on my big girl undies and reluctantly} caught the bus into the city. The minute I stepped off, all the bells were ringing in St Mary's cathedral. It was like it was welcoming me! It was midday and those bells rang for 12 straight minutes! Just magical. Immediately my mood shifted. Spanish guitar was playing on the speakers through Hyde park. A man was blowing up giant balloons for all the children {and adults!} to pop. The sky was so blue and it was warm for end May. I had my meeting {which was great!} and I bumped into a an old client from 10 years ago in the same cafe! Which led to another coffee date being scheduled. I came home to take the boys swimming and collect Tahlia from pre-school, and the sun was setting in such a magical way as we drove home. It was a good reminder that life can be so beautiful and so giving. So fulfilling with just the simple stuff. You just have to shake off the funk and step outside to see it. X
Mother's Day 2014.
I gave them life…but they gave me three awesome reasons to live!
Mother’s Day was a tad different this year. It’s normally a mad rush to get out of the house by 8am to get to my Mum’s for brunch. With my parents currently overseas, it meant I had the morning to sleep-in, read a book and be tackled in bed with my 3 cherubs throwing glittery crafts and cards at me.
The care and thoughtfulness that goes into the gifts my boys select from the school Mother’s Day stall, always amazes me. Hayden gave me a wooden spoon and recipe book (to apparently write all his favourite meals in, so he can take it with him when he moves out of home - I was told pizza, burritos and boiled eggs must be written in there!).
Cooper bought a coffee mug for Rod on Father’s Day last year, so of course I got a matching one on Sunday! I got to enjoy chocolate croissants and strawberries in bed, and was then told by Hayden to hurry up and finish so I could make everyone our usual Sunday pancakes! He was not impressed with Rod’s efforts apparently :).
Tahlia made gorgeous heart bikkies at pre-school, however they were demolished on Wednesday when she brought them home.
The remainder of Mother's Day was spent cuddling my kids, walking around in my new bogan-esque UGG boots, and then visiting Rod’s mum on the beaches.
Thank you Rod for making me a Mum to these three beauties. I love calling them our own and having them call me Mum {except when they add 30 syllables to it....like ‘Muuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrm’ and I can hear them from the next suburb!... Then, I feel like changing my name}.
A cheese board, cuddles, a vino, a fruit platter, hand-made cards, lemon pound cake and an amazing lamb dish cooked by Rod, made for one happy (and very full!) mumma over here.
Love you all, more than ice-cream x
{Sorry about the crappy pics - they're all off the iPhone as our SLR needs to see a doctor}
We have a blue ruler in our kitchen which we manage to measure the kid's heights on every few months....well, unless they're big enough to measure themselves!
Tahlia can be found with blue pen on the top of her forehead almost every other day.
