hello! first of all, thank you so much for putting this challenge together! i'm having such a blast with it and it's a) really interesting to actually see written out my reading habits and the numbers and b) already encouraging me to read and/or finish a lot of fics i otherwise might not have, and ended up being glad i did.
for the monthly book club since i'm not in the discord (coming in a bit late for jan, whoops! might have to join the server for feb though), any recommendations for percy jackson/heroes of olympus fics? willing to read pretty much anything, including crossovers, though i am especially looking for ones that include any of the following: examinations of grief and/or trauma, time travel, revolution against the gods, pov outsider

Hiya! We're so happy you're here and having fun! I love writing down my reading numbers as well - and this challenge has definitely helped me branch out from just the few fandoms I knew before. Now it's a fun challenge for me to read more and more new fandoms each year.
As for your Virtual Book Club question, I asked VBC on the Discord and got several fun crossovers for you. I also grabbed a few others that I've been rec'd in the past. I hope one of them works for you.

The exact location and time period he's been transported to? Smack in the middle of The Odyssey on Odysseus' ship, right before the crew lands on Helios' island. And when Zeus arrives to cast judgement, he comes face-to-face with a demigod, young and mortal and inexplicably, undeniably his. Jason thinks that Zeus couldn't care less about him. Unfortunately for him, he's about to be proven very, very wrong.

Summary: When people are desperate, they turn to faith. Panem has done a good job creating a truly secular society, stamping out the religions of the past, but nothing can stop new gods from rising. Or: When Gaea curses Percy to live in a world without the gods, he winds up in District 4 and is chosen as tribute for the 70th Hunger Games. From there, everything just kind of spirals. *MCD at the beginning.

Summary: After he finally had some peace and quiet for once in his blasted demigod life, Percy finds himself catapulted back a decade to the past, right back to his confrontation with Mrs Dodds. While not exactly thrilled, he chooses to make use of this chance and try to prevent as many of the tragic deaths of campers as possible without fucking up the timeline in the process. Hopefully. So, he'll start again from scratch, even if it means getting Zeus' stupid bolt back or fighting two wars for gods that can't be bothered to save themselves. Again.

Summary: Nico told Apollo that Jason was somewhere better. Nico promised his friends he wouldnât bring Jason back. Nico swore to Will heâd grieve in healthy ways. And yet⊠when Nico receives a quest that aligns with his own selfish wants, he would be a fool to say no. Right? This is a fix-it fic for Jasonâs death from Nico's POV, written as though it were a follow up book to the Trials of Apollo series. You do not need to have read the Trials of Apollo or The Sun and The Star to enjoy this! It does contain spoilers for both, and sticks to canon (âŠwith a few exceptions for some of the stranger choices in TSATS). I wanted this to be enjoyable for old, new, returning, and continuing fans of PJO. Buckle up! We're bringing Jason back.

So they break the barriers between universes and summon heroes that have been successful in their quests before: the Seven of the Argo II.
âWas this all there was to your theory? That it wasnât an attack?â Viktor asks as he continues to carefully document the scrunched pile of metal plates. As he does, he finds it making more and more sense, despite being an exploded piece of equipment. He can make educated guesses as to which plates were the bicep, the tricep, the brachiallis. The golden lines follow the planes of silvery plates like the framing of stained glass windows â delicate and precise. Each once precisely shaped. Even some of the fingers have retained their intricacy in the mangled wreck. Detailed metal work once loved dearly by its creator with filigree gaps and expert soldering. Â
Definitely not something intended to be a weapon. Or a deception. It was clearly loved by its maker.Â
