Lenticular clouds over Mount Fuji, Japan. These are stationary lens-shaped clouds that form at high altitudes, usually perpendicular to the direction of the wind.
We have lenticular clouds over our volcanoes, but this is spectacular. Any time the lenticular clouds shows up, a fight between ““it’s a CLOUD ffs” Team, and “It’s a Mothership under cloud cover how can you be so blind” Team breaks out.
