I have to laugh.....Hana clasps tohru’s hands, cries, does the forehead touch thing, and tells Tohru “together. I want us to be together” litcherally word for word the same thing Tohru tells Kyo (u know. Her love interest?) and Yet™️ somehow™️ hanajima is a heterosexual™️ straight™️ woman? attracted to an old man? (kazuma ilu but plz.........ur aged like a fine wine but she is not old enough to imbibe) (and also a lesbian). I have to laugh. Truly I must. That anyone would look at Saki “lives for Tohru” “thinking of her getting married makes me want to cry” “dresses exactly how she feels comfortable and doesn’t give a flying FUCK about the male gaze” hanajima and think for one microsecond that she’s not the biggest lesbian in town!!!!!!
i like how saki’s shoujo collection (and particularly the inclusion of shigure’s smut series) in episode 21:
pays specific homage to the cute little saki factoids that takaya gives to us in chapter 97:
saki’s low-key shigure smut stan status simply had to be recognised as canon from all angles
The Legend of Korra: Ruins of the Empire - Part Three
Story by Michael Dante DiMartino | Art by Michelle Wong & Killian Ng
Kuvira’s true nature is revealed, and the Earth Kingdom will feel the consequences!
Thanks to Commander Guan and Doctor Sheng’s brainwashing technology, all hope for a fair election in the Earth Kingdom is lost. Korra works with Toph, Su, and Kuvira to plan a means to rescue not just the brainwashed Mako, Bolin, and Asami, but everyone else caught up in Guan’s plan! With the Earth Empire potentially on the rise again, Kuvira pulls another trick from her sleeve … but whose side is she truly on?
Written by series co-creator Michael Dante DiMartino and illustrated by Michelle Wong (Goosebumps: Download and Die), with consultation by Bryan Konietzko and Tim Hedrick, this is the ultimate continuation of the beloved television series!
Current release date: February 25, 2020

kyoru fandom:
yo this isn’t exactly a hot take but i like that it’s easy to mistake kyo and tohru’s relationship as the type that fits the “opposites attract” trope. you know, the type of ship people talk about when they say, “the dark, angry one and the soft, pure ball of human sunshine fall for each other”.
i like that, whilst it might seem like they fall into that category on the surface, it couldn’t be further from the truth.
the reality is that they’re more similar than they are different. they’re both damaged, fragile souls who have been deeply hurt by the circumstances of their life, circumstances so completely out of their control that they each created the persona they needed to hold back the darkness, the sadness, and the loneliness that would threaten to crush them if they spared it even one glance.
what is beautiful is that whilst most people might be fooled by the masks they wear - the brash tough guy act and the eternally cheerful fool - they both see straight through each other, almost immediately. they see the strength it takes to wake up every day and be the version of themselves they show to the world. between them, there are no pretences, only understanding. the knowledge that through each other they understand is what it is to be seen, to be known, and to be loved.
