trust no doctor OitNB verse
Name: (dr.) Eirwen Artz Age: 29 Crime: Over prescribing of controlled substances (opioids)
Always thinking of herself as a superior being, Artz M.D., doctor in neurology and diagnostician, thought she could avoid the law forever. The dean of medicine from the hospital she worked in had his hands already full of complaints about the ‘horrible’, ‘demeaning’ and ‘inhumane’ bedside manners of Eirwen, but the charges of over prescribing medicine for patients became a problem even he couldn’t avoid.
The hospital’s lawyers recommended, given her record, to avoid a trial, and just do her time: the hospital would lose a great mind but tons of money spent on covering her ass would be saved for the facility’s actual needs. The agreement would let her stay in a minimum security prison.
Reluctant to do so but happy about the fact that patients aren’t going to be her problem there, Eirwen surrenders herself to her assigned prison: Litchfield.
Is your muse involved in the medical field? If so, you can be added to a masterlist of other muses focused on medicine or healthcare! Simply REBLOG this post with the MUSE and either your muse’s SOURCE MEDIA (e.g. Grey’s Anatomy) or, if an OC, your muse’s MEDICAL CAREER (e.g. nurse practitioner) to be added. Indies, multimuses and hub blogs are welcome to reblog!

not usually, except if it’s funny and to my liking. i’m that kind of person.
open starter!
“I’m guessing this is the part where I pretend to care, right?”, she says without the subtlest hint of guilt for being an absolute jerk, placing her cold hands on the patient’s lateral forehead, “I’m gonna need you to clench your jaw like you’re really trying to swallow up all the mean things you want to say to me. Don’t blame me, by the way-- If you wanted to be babied you should have asked for another doctor”

THE HUNTER’S EXPRESSION ALMOST IMMEDIATELY began to deadpan once the young woman began to start flapping her gums once more. It wasn’t even a solid minute before she was talking again after his abrupt and crass comment regarding the LACK of attraction between the two of them. Even as she continued to mack a mockery of his lack of sexual attraction towards her, Daryl wasn’t even in the mood to give her any fuel for more of her shenanigans. If only he’d known better than to allow her the capacity to TALK, he would have duct-taped her mouth SHUT before. The hunter just huffed against the constant sound of Eirwen’s voice and tried his best to relax more into the stuffy compartment of the vehicle’s trunk.
His curiosity did PIQUE when she suddenly tapered off of her ramblings and suddenly fell quiet. Daryl wondered what it was she was about to DIVULGE before she clamped tight on her own howling screamer. From what the hunter could discern, it was most likely information regarding her previous OCCUPATION or perhaps something more valuable that she wanted to maintain discretion about. He took note of it, but remained quiet as he trained his ears on the shuffling and low groaning just beyond the safety of their hideaway.
After what seemed like several long and rather UNBEARABLE moments, he heard the soft swearing of his companion then a shift in her body weight against his own. The press of her warm body against his own took him off-guard, but with the trembling he’d felt from her arms and legs against his frame, Daryl was surprised it hadn’t happened SOONER. “Don’t get any ideas.” He retorted back, shifting a little himself to get more comfortable within the cramped space of their temporary shelter. “Once all’s clear– we’re bookin’ it.”
She made a living out of understanding people and their lies. Lies, she used to say, don’t usually come in the way people normally think they do. They’re not words whispered at the right time to get out of trouble or an specific reaction but a whole lot more. Like lies of omission-- he had noticed. He knew she was hiding something. And he had decided to remain quiet about it. That meant two things: he could be actually respectful of her secrecy or he was trying to use that bit of info at the right time. Any of those two meant he was SMARTER than she gave him credit for at the beginning-- but to be completely honest, she always thought people were dumb and then she got surprised with the contrary. It never worked the other way.
“I get it, I get it, you find the idea of me and my body repulsive and you made that clear, you don’t have to be so dramatic about it”, her eyes rolled to the back of her head, “Stop it or I’m going to start thinking that you like me and you have a kindergarden-ish way to show it”
She decided to spend her time counting his heartbeats, since clearly her talking was annoying him and he had the upper hand there (since he had no weapons). She was also a naturally unpleasant person. So she spent her silent time naming parts of the heart inside her mind, until the warmth of his body and the constant drumming of his heart against his chest nursed her to sleep. For the first time in too many nights, without the nightmares. For the first time in her life, letting herself vulnerable in front of another human. For the first time in her life, she had slept cuddled to another person.

—— SCAVENGING FOR SUPPLIES
001. our muses enter an abandoned super market / pharmacy / store that seemed quiet and zombie free … and then they heard a moan 002. your muse finds mine’s dehydrated and utterly close to passing out. 003. our muses run into a bag full of supplies … did the person who leave it die? did they forget it? or … is it a trap? 004. our muses barely get any alone time considering they’re always with their group; the only time they can be alone is during supply runs. our muses decide to take advantage of this by canoodling in the back room of the store. 005. our muses, who are strangers, run into each other in the pharmacy … and there’s only one bottle of antibiotics left.
—— LOOKING FOR SHELTER
006. our muses have been traveling the roads for weeks now, searching for a new place to rest their heads. they finally run into a town that appears promising … 007. your muse crashes in on my muse’s shelter, begging my muse to let yours stay for the night at least. 008. our muses are traveling up north when they run into a community. after some time, they decide to communicate with the leader of the community to try and get a place to stay. but something about this place just doesn’t seem right … 009. your muse is the leader of a community and my muse is the newest traveler to find it. your muse tries to gauge out if mine is a good addition for the community or not. 010. it has been weeks and our muses have gotten no luck in looking for a solid place to stay. it’s been messing with their mental, physical and emotional health … they’re very close to splitting up. they need to find something soon.
—— IN RIVALING GROUPS
011. our muses run into each other while out, they are both alone and have been instructed to kill anyone from the other group on sight. 012. our muses are the forbidden love of the zombie apocalypse : a part of rivaling groups but they sneak off and meet up whenever they can. OPTIONAL: one day my muse gets followed by someone a part of their own group. 013. your muse finds mine injured, your muse has to decide whether to help mine or leave them there to die. my muse is begging yours for help and is offering to give or do anything in return. 014. our muses are the leaders of their respective groups, they’ve agreed to meet to discuss a peace treaty. little do they know, they both planned to surprise attack the other. 015. our muses are caught in a heated war between their respective groups. my muse corners yours in a secluded area, they’re both about to attack until they realize … our muses are significant others that had gotten separated when the outbreak started months ( or even years ) ago.
—— VARIOUS OTHER SITUATIONS
016. my muse has the flu. a usually curable illness, but they ran out of medicine and now they have to find a way to go out and look for some without straining my sick muse even more. 017. our muses find themselves totally exposed in an open area with zombies staggering around them. they have to find a way to safety and fast. 018. our muses are leaders of their respective groups, both communities have been striving for over a year now. our muses are meeting to try and talk about the prospect of working together, trading, etc. maybe even come up with some kind of route so members ( and our muses ) can visit each other. 019. our muses are hungry and, by the grace of luck, there seems to be an animal they can eat and hunt. though, unable to use their guns with a fear that the noise would attract the dead, our muses need to find a way to trap that animal before they starve to death. 020. WITH HIS HAND STILL GRASPED ABOUT THE HITCH of the lid of the trunk, head poked out partly above to see what it was that might be trouncing through the woods, Daryl was taken aback by the sudden yank to his clothing. He made a sound that sounded like a yelp as his knee CLIPPED the side of the trunk frame. His fingers lost their grip on the lid as he was pulled down into the trunk and shoved onto his back. Without much time to argue the measures in which they would actually BOTH fit inside the compartment, Daryl didn’t fight as he felt the warmth of the young woman’s body settle atop his own. The hunter’s knees bent at an angle as he adjusted accordingly to ensure that once the lid was pulled down low enough to mimic the appearance of it being shut, the pair of them weren’t being crushed.
Settling the rifle beside himself, the hunter scoffed at her commentary about his knowledge or lack thereof regarding physics. He couldn’t imagine how Eirwen had managed to LIVE this long with how much the women seemed to enjoy CHATTERING for no real purpose other than to fill space and time or to hear herself speak. “Just shut yer trap an’ keep quiet,” he hissed annoyed that even in the face of almost certain DEATH, she continued to run her mouth.
As the trunk was closed, the hunter remained still, ignoring the previous banter from minutes before. The anticipated SHUFFLE of feet soon came and it seemed to drag on for what felt like years as the pair remained quiet and leery. Despite the fact that Daryl knew the few biters that managed to follow after them were meandering about in their own wayward wandering, he couldn’t help but hold his breath. The anticipation that their previous aggressors were still somewhere ATTEMPTING to hunt them down and kill them for what little supplies they had was unnerving.
Even in the constrained silence, Daryl could hear the somewhat steady and often erratic THUD THUDDING of their hearts rattling nervously within their chests. As the biters continued their milling about, Daryl let out a deep and strangled sigh wanting nothing more than to pinch his brow and shake his head at her banter. “Even if my dick WAS hard– it certainly wouldn’t be fer you, Chuckles.” He hissed in retaliation hoping that his own remark would put an end to her shenanigans, at the very least, temporarily. For the time being, they were stuck in the cramped compartment of the trunk until their assailants left the perimeter.
It was frankly disappointing: she had managed, after all, a perfect imitation of a disgusted, outraged expression, and since it was too dark, he couldn’t be a witness of the wonders of her acting skills.
“Are you implying I am not attractive enough, or that a woman can’t wake up little Daryl? Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against that-- well, actually, I do have something against the first option, but if tits are not your cup of tea then who am I to judge?”, she did her best to remain silent, ntil a thought popped inside her head, making her smile almost to herself, “Maybe it’s the fact that I’m alive, and you’re into the rotten ones! Well, I’ve seen some weird things I’m my life, I’m a...”
A doctor after all. No, she wasn’t going to say that out loud. Eirwen bit her lower lip to keep herself from disclosing the information that had put her more than once at risk of being used. And if this was a community, it automatically meant they needed a doctor--- if there was one thing Eirwen hated more than patients, it was zombie-apocalypse patients.
Rolling her eyes, Eirwen adjusted to remain as still as she could, trusting her hearing would let her know it dramatic measures had to be taken. Time passed by, but she wasn’t in position to trust her own calculations of how much. Once her legs and arms started to tremble because of the effort it took to not lay all her weight on top of his (she had some decency, after all), she decided the strenght wasted wasn’t at all worthy. Fuck it, she whispered softly, shifting to lay her head on his chest and her body directly on top of his’.
“You’re more comfy than I thought. Points for you, sugarboots”
proditeur:
“What? What? I’m—pardon—I can’t hear you—” Regulus made a show of cupping his hand behind his ear, straining to hear her from several feet away. As she approached he shifted, moved and made his way back round the other side of the table to escape.
“You’re too far—just—no, no, stay where you are, I’ll come to you—” he insisted though as he spoke he only grew farther away.
“Even the most rhetorical of questions demands an answer and my answer is this: I can think of five hundred reasons not to sit next to you and in the interest of being civil, I shall explain only one:
“The color of your clothing offends me.”
“We, both, happen to be in Slytherin and if you don’t like green - which, I give you, doesn’t suit your complexion at all - it’s fine by me, but I won’t apologize for looking good in it”, she tilted her head to the side, showing him a mocking smile, “So if you could stop being a spoiled child for once in your life, I’d like to talk to you for a moment”
She folded her legs and swirled the contents of her golbet with her hand, perhaps forgetting the fact that it was only juice, and not wine, and that she wasn’t part of a royal family.
snufflesmajor:
It wasn’t that Sirius didn’t like people touching his hair (Merlin only knew just how hard Peter, James, and Remus had laughed at him last time he’d said that), but that he only liked it when some people did. Such an experience was a thing to be earned, not stolen, but Artz had always been a bit of tool. So of course he swiped his finger along the accosted and victimised hair and tucked it behind his ear for a second time.
“So am I the most devastatingly handsome man you’ve ever seen, or the most intelligent? Either way, a compliment is a compliment.” With a smile sweet enough to give an innocent bystander cavities and fake enough to be used as dentures, Sirius winked. “It must be rough, having neither. Do people cut in line ahead of you all the time because of it?”
Eirwen let out a genuine cackle, staring at him for a long minute without saying a word, merely measuring his expression.
“I am surprised! It must have taken some training to boost your ego so much that you can take my words as a compliment”, one of her hands moved to rest over her chest in a mocking way, “And cut the bulshit, because by saying I have neither you just prove that I was right by saying you’re not smart--- but did you come up with that reply all by yourself? I am, for the second time, impressed. I thought gryffindors didn’t have it in them to snark, but everyday I learn new things”
@proditeur gets a starter bc yes.
She toyed with the golden golbet she was holding, staring at Regulus for a lenght of time that could be considered far from polite. “Rethorical question for you, Black--- should I be feeling wounded that you sat precisely in the opposite end of the table than me? I can think of at least one... two... let’s say, three hundred reasons someone wouldn’t want my company, but... Et tu, Brute?”
With her palm pressed against her chest, she dramatically feigned a deep disappointment, all while making her way to sit next to him.
@snufflesmajor ♥d the starter call bc she likes me i mean don’t get me wrong
“There might come a day where your gang’s IQ, all summed up together, will match the levels of the stupidity of your pranks around the castle”, she let the words flow from her heart like a fountain of sass, disregarding all respect for personal space while tucking a strand of his hair behind his ear, “It’s a shame that your looks don’t match your brains, but we can’t all have both, right?”
