( Wandering Soul || kcrfuffle )
Soft eyes met the spirit’s gaze, and he knew he could find comfort in them. He had to pause, nodding his head slowly in agreement to the God’s statement. It did hurt – stung even. And a lot. He couldn’t imagine what it’d be like if it spread any more. Would it spread? Just that thought alone made the worry pool in his stomach. He hadn’t actually had the confidence to pull up his sleeve and look at the damage that his arm had taken, so when Okami observed what had happened to him, he… Began to panic. His eyes widened, and he almost pulled his arm back. What.. was that? Why was his arm…? That was why his arm was stinging? What had that monster done to him? “ Water…? “ If it was just water, then how would it help at all? Special or not, this boy was incredibly skeptical about it actually working. But it… did. It soothed his skin almost instantly, a satisfying feeling like itching a bug bite, or cooling off a burn under ice cold water. It was nice… And this spirit felt somewhat in the God’s debt. He’d gone out of his way to help a simple spirit? But why? “ Thank… you. For this. ” His arm was wrapped up before he knew it – and while the sting was still there, it had subsided some.
“ K-Kura-oka-okami… ” He repeated, then paused to think. All he remembered was running away from some creature that he didn’t know of. He hasn’t thought the encounter was too bad, but… Had he been touched? “ I… I don’t know. “
|| ❆ || The boy seemed to be just a ball of worry and anxiety. it was almost surprising that he wasn’t more hurt. or maybe he was... whatever the case, it seemed like the most pain had come from his arm, and now it was at least under control. “You’re welcome, young one.”
It seemed as if the young man had calmed down slightly now, which was good. if he was still scared and tried to run, he more than likely wouldn’t make it through to the next day. the god sat across from him, watching him. he didn’t want to frighten the boy any more with his presence, but he should learn about what had happened... at least partially. “...What hurt you is called an ‘Ayakashi’ or a ‘Phantom’. it attacks those from the near and far shore alike. i fear in your case... it was trying to make you one of them.”
He didn’t have the heart yet to tell him about his fate. that he was no longer living. well, he wasn’t sure if the boy know that or not, but he could take a guess that that was the case. but... “Would you like to come with me back to my home? there you would be safe from the Ayakashi. you can recuperate and heal, you wouldn’t need to run. would that be okay?” it was always good to ask permission. and hearing that he was a spirit now from others would probably go over better at a warm place with others that were like him.
