Snub Hubs: “Sure, the food* was mediocre** and the service was slow, but at least it was expensive.” 

*The beer, as you can plainly see, was fantastic. 

**The children’s menu meatloaf (pictured, background) was not mediocre. It was awful. It tasted unmistakably of beef jerky. The kid, of course, loved it.

Atlanta Airport, Starbucks, "Pour Over" coffee (Be Careful What You Wish For edition) SnubHubs: "I asked for the light roast pour over. I was handed a cup of hot water that barely *smells* like coffee."

SnubHubs: “Rich and tender apple cider donuts and Counter Culture coffee served in a folksy interior decorated with simple, informative posters, to say nothing of the Dirty Dancing themed promotional t-shirts (not pictured)? All of the above. Delightful. 

... the espresso was adequate.”

“Bran” Muffin, Baltimore Airport (layover snacks edition)

SnubHubs: “Look, you can’t just make a raisin muffin with oatmeal sprinkled on top and call it ‘bran’. This thing has about as much fiber as a sack of brown sugar.”

Last Minute Friday Fave: "Mad Max: Fury Road" A: "How was the movie?" SnubHubs: "Really quite good. Best action movie I've seen in years."

A: “What’s wrong? You don’t like the coffee?”

SnubHubs: “Here we are in a nice restaurant, where the owner believes in serving high quality foods in carefully selected dishes. So then why does the coffee taste like Dunkin Donuts?”

A Special Vacation Edition of SnubHubs! Grilled Fish Sandwich, Sand Bar restaurant, Marco Island, FL

A: “How’s your fish sandwich?”

SnubHubs: “I know some people like a fish sandwich to be ‘light’, but this is so light that it taste like egg whites. The pickles are good, though.”

La Croix Passionfruit 'Essenced' Sparkling Water, SnubHubs residence, Milwaukee, WI

SnubHubs: "It tastes too flowery, like every bubble contains a tiny Macy's employee spraying perfume into my mouth."

A: "I saw you got coffee in the mail today. How do you like it?"

SnubHubs: "It's *really* good. It's a Kenyan from Metric Coffee Co., a fairly new roaster in Chicago, and it won a Good Food Award. I can absolutely see why. It's delicious."

Happy Friday! SnubHubs does sometimes like things, and when he does, he wants to tell you all about them. So, to break up the monotony of snubs,* we're inaugurating "Friday Faves", a weekly post in which SnubHubs shares something he thinks is pretty great. 

*"A Monotony of Snubs" is either a great name for SnubHubs' memoir or what you would call a gathering of 3 or more snobs.

A: "How's your espresso?"

SnubHub: "This mediocre coffee has been very well prepared."

SnubHub: "I won't be finishing this."

Picking out a new dog collar, Doggy DayCare, Milwaukee 

A: "G's collar smells bad. She needs a new one. Do you like any of these?"

SnubHub: "They're all terrible. Let me find something on-line."

Flannel Work Shirt, J. Crew Factory, On-line Purchase

A: "Do you like your new shirt?"

SnubHub: "The material is great and the herringbone underneath the plaid pattern is interesting. But these buttons are really awful; they're overtly plastic-y and the color of baby food. I've considered having them all replaced."

Cinnamon Roll, Collectivo Coffee, Milwaukee, WI

A: "How's your cinnamon roll?"

SnubHub: "It's okay. I know most people are into cinnamon rolls for the frosting, but the bread is really where a cinnamon roll shows its mettle. This has too much frosting."
