Just on the tumblr posting bullshit 《bullshit!》
I'm gonna say this is about the highschool au solely so they all have a reason to be together often.
I think out of the team dude +Cameron friendgroup, Brick's house is the only one they will willingly be at for long periods of time. Out of the eight parents between them, Brick's mom is the only normal, very functional one. I sorta covered it in my long hc post for ROTI, but; dead dad for Cameron, dead dad for Brick, dead mom for Lightning, we've seen Cameron's mom and she definitely has some sort of problems, Lightning's dad didn't even look at him in his video from home, and I feel like as a fandom we've decided Jo's parents don't actually like her that much. Reasons vary, but Jo doesn't exactly give off 'there were no big problems with how I was raised' vibes. Brick likes his mom enough to write her letters, so that's enough for me to roll with.
Going to Cameron's other friendgroup, the Zoke +Cameron group, I think Mike and Cameron do the same thing to Zoey's house and parents. I would now ramble about how bad Mike's homelife was/is, but my headcanons for that aren't set in stone yet. I'm still deciding how fucked up I want Mike, but it's safe to say Zoey has the only normal house.
Idk, I just like the trope(? I think I've seen it enough for it to be considered a trope) of the characters who have not great households finding some semblance of a healthy home life in someone else's house. And then being there more than their own house. It's somewhere between found family and adoption and that tickles me.
I usually post on my tablet so the screen is much bigger. I'm on my phone right now and my ramblings look even longer now 💀
World Tour and ROTI Timing Headcanon Ramble
I came up with this idea this morning and then I skimmed the wiki for maybe 5 minutes to make sure there wasn't anything glaringly obvious I was forgetting about. So I've probably forgotten about something really big that goes directly against this but:
I'm going to start believing that one of the (in-universe) reasons that the new ROTI cast had to happen, besides the fact that Chris thought bringing in new blood would boost the ratings, was that the World Tour cast just missed like a fourth of their school year and wasn't allowed to come back. Granted, I know that: 1. Chris would not give a shit about the contestants' education. 2. The TD contracts are probably sketchy as hell and let Chris do basically whatever he wants. But I'm sure Courtney/some lawyer could find some law to pause another season of them.
I came up with this when I got reminded of the fact that by the time of the World Tour final four, it's barely April. And it's a cast of like, 18. Even if that plane teleported between elimination locations, it'd still take like a month. Add straight travel time (I'm sure someone's calculated that), non-ideal travel time because the pilots sorta don't know wtf they're doing, non-elimination locations, and the fact they probably didn't/couldn't compete every single day back-to-back, and I feel you could easily justify a 2-ish month estimate for the season. By the time they reach the final four, WT has taken all of their March and most if not all their February. If it officially ends and they get to all go home for real mid-April, they have to recover and catch up on normal life just in time to lock in for finals. And they're all 16/17, so they're Juniors or Seniors. Either way, they've just missed maybe a quarter of arguably the most important school year of their lives. No matter who you are, you're gonna struggle hard.
I'm sure between actually getting back, getting his shit together, rebuilding Alejandro, gathering up a new cast, and preparing a new season, Chris could burn about 2 more months and get from mid-April to mid-June. Just in time for everyone in the ROTI cast to finish their school year. I feel like it'd be fitting to bring in a fresh cast as soon as possible in a fresh summer, and it'd mimic the summer campy vibes the first season was supposed to have.
Side note: imagine being one of the classmates of one of the OGs. One day you hear your local random classmate just got selected for a TV show. Flash forward not even a year later, your classmate is on their 3rd season of reality tv and has almost accidentally died about 10 times, cheated, had a critical medical emergency, shown nudity, injured themselves like not human has ever done before, been cheated on, or some diabolical combination of those choices.

(sounds like a song title lol)
hi. trent is my weird little freak. uhhh i mean you could put him in psych, or trauma care with how much he fucking dies in the canon series.
So I was literally procrastinating changing the goths to the morgue to put Trent in psych last night, because I'd have to edit 2 posts and I wanted to sleep instead, but hadn't even considered trauma care. Also, this ask made me realize I straight up forgot any ICU/critical care situation for my au. I think it's because I had an ER department so I was like 'well, got a spot for all the dying people, good enough' and forgot people generally don't get better in ERs. So because of this, I'm making Trent the one single intensivist/critical care doctor in the whole icu. Partly out of necessity lol.
Some of the td moments I think about the most are the ones that definitely should've mauled if not killed the contestant(s). Trent was seizing on the ground and literally dying in that one episode after eating that pufferfish. Idk how I managed to forget about that and him when I was making my medical au.
It's been almost a year and I'm only just realizing I forgot to add Trent to my hospital au 💀💀💀💀
Idk what to do with him though so anyone got any ideas?
Edit: Trent is now the single Intensivist/critical care doctor.
Team men!! (I actually didn't remember what was going on in this scene, but out of context it looks like Lightning and Jo are so pissed at Brick for no reason)
Okay hold on I need to express my takes on team dude's physical strengths because i've seen some weird ones and it's bugging me
It's hard to say between Jo and Lightning but I personally think Lightning is physically the strongest, due to him putting 100% energy in his muscles and literally nothing else. He punted zeke like a football. Lightning is the strongest of his gen.
Jo is clearly the fastest -- she's a champion sprinter and is usually the one to reach the challenge areas first without being as tired as the others. She's also the 2nd most strong of her gen imo i mean did you SEE how she sent sasquatchanawka flying
Brick is clumsy, but he's definitely not weak. He has really shit stamina when it comes to running and swimming but he's clearly very durable himself. He is super defense heavy; basically the human form of a shield. I don't know why i've seen people say that he's stronger than jo??? It's literally proven in episode 3 that he's not wtf are you talking about
Can we also talk about how they're the most athletic people but they all have completely shit eating habits. Lightning will eat literally anything you say has protein in it. Brick's favourite food is CHEF'S food (are his tastebuds okay??) and jo... "Food is for wimps!" jo. what do you MEAN girl you are an ATHLETE you need to EAT WHAT DO YOU MEAN
Like I don't think all of team dude have eating disorders necessarily, I just think they all eat disorderly. I think that makes sense.
Maybe hot take (lukewarm take?) I think Lightning's winter sport would be wrestling, not basketball or hockey. I have no real reason besides I want it to be.
While I was literally typing this draft I suddenly thought of two real reasons. Crazy. One: I feel like the lowkey obsession wrestlers have to have with their bodies fits Lightning better. I don't think basketballers have that. Wrestlers were always doing some bs like not eating on meet days and running the hallways with 5 clothing layers on to lose weight in the hour. That feels like some shit Lightning would be on. I mean, his only concern about eating ambiguous grey slop is the protein content, so I don't think he eats functionally. There was a post I liked somewhere on here talking about team dudes atrocious eating habits, I'll find it and rb. Two: wrestling is an individual thing. Only you need to have it together to get to championships or whatever, basketball is a team thing. From how he talks about his football team, I'm pretty sure he doesn't like his teammates that much. I feel like his dad would eat up the fact he'd be doing an individual sport and wouldn't be weighed down by teammates.
So anyways, Lightning's varsity season rotation would be football -> wrestling -> baseball. There was a post on here that made the 'Lightning's going to strike' joke before me, so I'll find and rb that too.
Went back and did the ship sortr ranking too
Not sure how Duncney got that far up. I like it, but I would've though top twenty not top ten.
Also, usually think of myself as more of a Dott person than a Bawn person, but not today I guess.
Also also, no Camlightning option is crazy. I love Camlightning. Would've made top five if I had it.
Did the sortr thing I've seen everyone else do but mine only displayed the long way not the square way
part two of td characters' drink orders in various scenarios:
Leshawna: margaritas are her favorites. allergic to pineapple, so a lot of rum drinks in particular are off the table
Cody: whatever he thinks is "cool" or impressive. does more shots than he can handle, chugs too much beer, orders whatever the person he's trying to impress does. gets drunk and sleepy very fast
DJ: being drunk makes him anxious, but he'll have a single beer, mimosa, glass of wine, etc., especially if it pairs with food
Harold: porn star martini. master mixologist; went to Alcoholic Steve's Bartending Camp
Beth: doesn't like the taste of alcohol, and it's bad for her, so why would she drink it? (queen) (...may give up on her principles to fit in)
Trent: beer's his go-to, but he'll have a rum & coke. not very adventurous
Ezekiel: has either never drank, or drinks like a fish. no in-between.
Justin: mimosas, mint juleps, various spritzes; basically anything that can be drank earlier in the day
Tyler: normally drinks beer. will usually order/drink whatever the people around him are drinking to avoid making a decision
Sadie: whatever Katie drinks! (paloma)
Katie: whatever Sadie drinks! (cosmopolitan) (and then they switch drinks because they ordered each other's favorites <3)
Eva: would never put that poison in her body, are you crazy?
unnatural disasters
Question for fanfiction readers/writers:
If the fic centers around a poly ship, should it also have the couple tags? e.g. if the fic is a/b/c, should it also be tagged a/b, b/c, and a/c
Yes, always
Yes, if the couple ships have their own moment
No, it should be either/or
Mixed feelings? I can't think of any other opinion options
Assorted Wawanakwa Hospital AU Thoughts
Here's specialties if you want to/haven't seen them. OG Specialties, RI Specialties, PI Specialties, RR Specialties, Reboot
Some of these are repeats, but I felt like putting it all in one place was a good idea.
Every Gen is a wave of hires for the hospital. So everyone in the OG gen is hired at once, everybody from ROTI is hired at once, so on. Chris just has very poor employing strategies. Going off of that, the RR teams are not hired all at once because there's just too big a gap too justify that, even considering Chris. They just get hired everytime Chris realizes they have no one in that specialty. Hires of convenience.
Blainely is the float nurse manager, because I feel like being in charge of four whole people would make her feel all kinds of big and important.
Everyone treats the float nurses like their personal messengers. Whenever they aren't fighting for their lives in whatever unit they've been assigned to, they're passenger pigeons. Half the time, they're sent across the hospital just to yell at someone.
I might have already covered this, but an all PI surgery team is possible and probably occurs often. Surgical technician Dave, anesthesiologist Leonard, surgery nurse Sugar, take your pick of Scarlett or Max as the surgeon. And once your done, Amy's your nurse. Genuinely horrifying. Even when the surgeon isn't a PI member, the surgery team absolutely argues over unconscious people.
Going off of case teams that absolute trips, getting an amputation is definitely up there. Amputations are usually done by a orthopedic surgeon (Alejandro) or trauma surgeon (Stephanie), you get to recover in the scary place that is medsurg, you go to Scott the prosthetist who has B, the dead-silent pathologist hovering over his work, and then you see one of the four physiotherapists that look like they could beat the shit out of you.
The physical therapy room is literally the most physically intimidating unit in the entire hospital. 3/4 of the people in that room are well built and over 6'2" (Ryan, Lightning, Caleb). Jo is the 1/4, but she makes up for it and acts tall. Jo unintentionally is the exception to a lot of themes in the pt room; pale, female, under six foot, and her partner has the least blood on his hands. Float nurse Brick compared to trauma surgeon Stephanie, cardiothoracic surgeon Cameron, er nurse Priya. Jo definitely makes digs on how Brick has the least big boy job.
In everything but physicality, medsurg is most intimidating. It's something between charge nurse Heather, Amy existing, and a good third of the surgeons having control issues/being antagonists. It's just really mean in there. Nichelle's little meltdown in the first season over being fake is now just her sobbing in a supply closet because she can't take it in medsurg.
The psych unit is the most successful unit in Wawanakwa Hospital. Crimson and Ennui keep it dead silent at night without even medicating the patients. Dawn, Millie, and Scary Girl are locked tf in during the day. They solve their patients, and anyone else who even looks at their unit. Their part of the floor is avoided like the plague.
I think all the therapies should be on the same floor. So the psych unit is within seeable distance from occupational and physical therapy. All the physiotherapists have so many issues they're enrichment for the psychiatrists. Lightning and Dawn had fun interactions and I'd like more people to talk about that. I saw one single post about a Caleb and Millie friendship considering that's Priya's useless (affectionate) boyfriend and Priya's useless (affectionate) bestfriend, and I liked that too.
Hospital director Chris and Chef keep a deaths count list. Seems like the kind of thing they'd do for fun while Chris is drinking on the job. Whatever department is the highest by the end of month gets a little paycheck cut. It's almost always the emergency department because people are already on the verge of death when they get there.
What are your RR doctor headcanons? Sorry, I really like reading about your doctor au! :)
So, sorry for neglecting your ask for the last three weeks, that's my bad. But I finally wrote them.
