As I big farewell to the amazing experience my field placement got me at WestJet, I am super excited to start a new journey and continue as an employee for WestJet. This company has given me an experience of a lifetime and I know that those experiences will only continue to be better and continue to help me grow as a person. I've learnt so much from my peers and also about my peers and I am truly elated to be able to continue this journey with them as we take on WestJet together. Thank you WestJet💙

As the days have gone on, I've realized I have more in me then I thought I did. I've accomplished so much and am so happy with who I've met and who I've become through this experience. I will never be able to thank everyone who I came into contact with during my field placement experience, from start to finish. We all have bad days and we all have good days, as a WestJetter, it is our job to make sure we turn those bad days around into good days and that we make good days into great days. People are looking to us for guidance and help and we have the power to make those days great days and change their entire experience for the better.

Flying with WestJet to Calgary was my first time ever flying with WestJet and I loved every second of it. The crew was so kind and you could tell they enjoyed what their jobs. I can't wait to travel more with WestJet!!!!💙✈️

Being able to go to Calgary where WestJet's headquarters are was a fantastic experience because I got to experience the culture of WestJet. I cannot thank the WestJetters enough for welcoming us into their home that they are able to be at everyday and share with us their lives. Being able to see a place filled with WestJetters was truly inspiring.

MAR 9th I love this company. WestJet has provided me with the experience I could not have gotten elsewhere. These people are ones who would do anything in their power to help guests in need, whether it be simple things such as using the kiosk or taking someone to their gate. I understand it's all about empowerment and that we have the ability to use our own empowerment to help someone who's having a rough day or a rough couple of days due to irregular operations because of weather or whatever it may be but there isn't one person who doesn't want to help. These guests are coming and going from all over the worlds closest and farthest countries and yet they almost always have a smile on their face when they are at WestJet's counters, baggage belts or kiosks. This company has given me the opportunity to further enhance my skills and knowledge and I can't wait for the journey ahead. Ps. This picture was taken from Google. FEB 28TH

I had a guest that was dyslexic and he just needed help printing a boarding pass and getting help through security. He thanked me over and over again just for taking 5 minutes out of my dad to help him and he just kept praising WestJet for being a company that cares about their guests and that we are always so helpful. I absolutely loved hearing this because it made me proud to be apart of this company that is all about their guests.

FEB 24th

Today was a little hectic but it was an overall great day. Every day that goes by, I realize that I could not love the job even more. The amount of people that go through the airport during a day is just an insane amount and it's amazing to hear where everyone is going and the stories that they decide to share with you. I appreciate every moment because I know sometimes we might not realize how much a small moment means until we reflect upon it, which I've been trying to do after every shift. I love taking in the entire experience and all the people, it's quite a privilege.

WestJet Christmas Miracle

Breaking news: An airline made me cry today. This video is great.

FEB 13TH, SNOW AND MORE SNOW It wasn't a pleasant weekend for those travelling last week. The weather was awful and people were getting stuck here for the night or even days. We all know the risks when flying during these winter months, it can be unpredictable. It's hard to explain to guests when they ask why their flights get cancelled and the reason being because of the weather and not necessarily on our end but it could be the destinations end. It's difficult because unfortunately we can't do anything about it, it's uncontrollable and sometimes you just feel helpless. We did have a lot of flights that ended up being cancelled and some guests understand why and took the information we gave them and others weren't so happy because they had places to be and people to see and when you hear some stories, it really does make you feel helpless and I don't think that's their intention but it just isn't a great situation for anyone at that point. I hope that during these few days I was able to witness what can happen suddenly and unexpectedly is that I always handle it like I did that weekend, with a kind smile because sometimes that's all someone else needs to see. #WestJet

FEB 3RD This day was quite fun because it was the first flight to Sudbury! I was just walking around, helping guests and realized balloons were being brought in and happened to be WestJet colours, so I was curious. Some WestJetters(from Calgary, I was told) started placing the balloons around the kiosks and our counters and I just felt so content in that moment, I was just reminded that we are all one big family, although it isn't an extravagant destination, it was still something and somewhere to celebrate! I loved the fact that they included everyone and that I felt apart of something like this. It felt so great knowing that it isn't just for the destination or the people travelling to the destination, but it's a celebratory moment for all who are apart of the WestJet Family, and I truly did enjoy that day!!

Thanks to your efforts, the ACLU has successfully sued to temporarily block parts of this unconscionable abuse of executive power.

There’s plenty more to do, and plenty of ways to do it. If you want to do something right now, consider a donation to the Muslim Public Affairs Council, or sign this petition (started by the great George Takei!) to stand up for Muslims in the U.S., and stand against the fear and xenophobia that threatens our community, our nation, and our world.

History will remember how we responded. Don’t give up.
