Change the Environment; Change the People
Is it believed that our human nature is to be greedy and possessive; insecure? Then change the environment, educate the people, they will change. A people's government can work as long as people know that it will be there for then and have things in abundance for them. When people are positive that the common effort has and always will produce an abundance, they will lose the need to be greedy, possessive, and insecure.
U N I T Y
Our inability to work with other peoples, other slaves who have the same master, is a consequence of the inferiority complex we have been conditioned into. We're afraid that in the process the Chinese will trick us, or whore folks who support socialism and liberation of all the Amerikan colonies really just want to user us, trick us.
This paranoia is a carry over from the days when a white face in a black crowd meant that the white brain was controlling things. It's a carry over from the days when some of us felt that nothing could function properly without the presence of a white brain, when we were sufficiently convinced of or own inferiority to allow them to take us over.
Is based in or lack of confidence in our ability to control situations. Yet no one can take us over or betray or interest if we are vigilant and aggressively intelligent.
We need allies, we have a powerful enemy who cannot be defeated without an allied effort.
Anyone with the saved same interest must be embraced, we must work beside, with, through, over, under anyone, regardless of their external physical features, whose aim it's the same as ours in this.
There are other people on this Earth. In denying their existence and turning inward our misery and accepting any form of racism we are taking on the characteristic of our enemy. We are resigning ourselves to defeat.
Capitalism and Communism (Soledad Brothers)
George Jackson: "I've worked in favorites here in this country, on assembly lives, doing production work. I've made some study of mass production procedures in heavy and light industry, and over looked into political economy in general, and I'm version that in everything you've said here for the last month there was a conscious intent to misrepresent the truth, to present only those parts of the truth that supported your contentions or to omit it altogether. This thing about incentive, if its a factor in production, in order for it to influence the volume of production, or the quality, its pretty clear that this incentive must find some way of communicating itself down to the worker. I can understand an owner our executive having the desire to make money-profit-but since ambition is a very personal thing, how does it affect the attitude and productivity of the worker? his wage will be the same if he works hard, not so hard, or not at all, and it is ultimately on how hard the worker works that volume and quality depends on"
Colonel Davis (History Instructor): "Yes well in our factory setups we have quotas to meet and foremen and efficiency experts to see that they are met."
George Jackson: "Did you say quotas? That sounds like something from one of Fidel's public addresses - you know, sugar quotas - the difference of course bring that Fidel is depending on a cooperation that springs from a sense off participation, and perhaps the knowledge that the volume and quality of production determines their general well-being, rather than the personal fortunes of an owner or small group of owners. In the factories that I worked in and have observed the principal interest of most of the workers was coffee and lunch breaks or quitting time; we watched the cocked, watched out for the foreman and other spies, and made as many trips to the toilet as we could possibly expect to get away with. Although the profit motive may excite owner and supervisor to invest and organize production, the index of productivity is determined by the attitudes of the workers in the machine, tool, and maintenance sectors to a great extent. That being the case, it is the symmetrical opposite of your contention that its true. There is less real incentive. Based on the impulse to gain benefits, inherent within the modern form of capitalism, it's clear to me that the worker who felt that the machine, the factory, all factories were in part his own would be very much concerned about productivity and quality of product, much more concerned than one who had no more at stake than an inadequate wage"
Colonel Davis (History Instructor): "But you missed the meaning of my statement." "The spur of profit and fear of loss are the motivations that have made the capitalist system of production efficient. It automatically checks the marginal facilities and factors of production. It is responsive to demand and supply, i.e., the demands of the consumers and the availability of materials, and this responsiveness is automatic, built on, an inherent part of the system."
George Jackson: "The same can be said for any system of political economy. With planned, people's economics, however, the automatic feature is dropped and demand is not simulated artistically in the Madison Avenue sense. It's fatuous and misleading to claim profit and loss motivation a feature of capitalism only. It is a feature of all economies in all time pat and present. The only difference is that with capitalism the spur is driven into the flanks of the people by the relatively few individuals who by chance or bent of ferocity have been able to make fraudulent claims on the rights to profit, the rights to benefit from wealth created by labor first, applied to materials from man's (plural positive: source of life support - nature. In the People's Republics of Africa, Asia, and Eastern Europe this right to profit - to benefit from their labor and their land - is being returned to the people. The Pepe are spurred by the profit motive collectively; a situation fat more conducive to productivity since ultimately productivity depends on the attitude of the individual worker. Proportionally China has achieved more economically in twenty years than the US had in two hundred. They had the advantage of being able to avoid the terrible mistakes made by the US and Western Europe in those two hundred years, but a comparison between today's China and let's say today's India and Indonesia, where they have developed nothing economically, will point up clearly which system is best oriented to meet the needs of the people. The leadership in India states with capitalism (private enterprise) when China turned to revolutionary people's socialism with communism projected for the future. I am certain that everyone in this room has the intelligence to understand that India's race riots and street sleepers are not indications that China had taken the wrong road."
Colonel Davis (History Instructor): "But they're starving in China."
George Jackson: "No one starves in China, that's upper ignorance speaking now. You were probably just lying before, but it is possible that you are ignorant enough to think that people starve in China still, because they were in such numbers when you were there in the forties serving the fascist military industrial establishment. You people's ignorance on these maters had prompted the Chinese and other third world nations to the observation that you all live behind a veritable curtain of ignorance. There are more people starving in the US, in the Black Belly of the southeastern US in all the large cities, in the Appalachian Mountains and grape fields of California than in any other county on Earth with the possible exception of India. China sends grain to other countries on long term, interest free loan basis. Vietnam, Egypt, Pakistan, and some others are eating Chinese surplus food supplies right now."
Colonel Davis (History Instructor): "Nigger they just bought a hundred thousand tons of wheat from Canada last month."
George Jackson: "You did say they 'bought' it, it means they must be doing pretty well; the principle of economic advantage means that even people in their respective areas, nations if you prefer, with their respective differences in climate and topography should produce that thing which is easy and natural for then to produce. With proper organization they will be able to produce a surplus of this thing that they produce well. It is this surplus that the well-ordered society (of today at least) uses to exchange for the things that they produce economically. China bought wheat from Canada with other food products and raw materials that Canada needed. That deal last month was simply good economics on China's part. Canada is about to collapse economically? Nothing stays the same, not even for an instant. If a thing isn't growing, it's decaying. People's government has been on three match since the close of WW2 everywhere, building, developing, challenging, and defeating the capitalist-based systems that function on servitude of the people. The inevitable failure will be with capitalism, the guns of Vietnam will sound the death knell of capitalism. We know how to fight you now; capitalism is dying right here tonight, look at yourself, you're defeated."
Raising Children in Lies
You go through life discovering that this enemy cannot be appeased, that he is relentless, calloused beyond repair, dedicated to personal financial success, heedless to it's cost in human suffering. Yet when the son comes along, instead of acting on these discoveries in a positive way, you lie, pretend, defend your inaction and collaboration, head down, shoulders bent, noise stained brown.
Ass-Similation
a colonizer, a usurer, the original thief, a murderer for personal gain, a kidnapper-slaver, a maker of cannon, bombs, and poison gas, an egocentric parasite, the original fork tongue, the odd man is trying to convey to us that we must adjust ourselves to his wrap, that were backward, underdeveloped, unsophisticated! this is strange and contradictory.
Black is Sin?
the theory of an existing and benevolent god simply doesn’t make sense to anyone who is rational. a benevolent and omnipotent god would never allow such imbalances as i see to exist for one second. If by chance I am wrong, however, I must then assume that being born black called for some automatic punishment for sins I know nothing about, and being innocent it behooves me to defy god.
We're Just Ordinary People
Ordinary people, the mediocre, need to feel or believe in something greater than themselves. It gives them false security and it makes them feel that bliss may be forthcoming. This is self delusion in the extreme. I cannot partake in any foolishness. Do you want me to be mediocre like the rest of the herd! When I need strength, Mama, I reach down within myself, I have faith in myself. This is where it must always come from in the end -yourself. I place no one and nothing above myself. What any man has done before me I can do.
The Problem with Victim Blaming
I didn't create this impasses. I had nothing to do with the arrival of matters at this destructive end, as you infer. Did I colonize, kidnap, make war on myself, destroy my own institutions, enslave myself, use myself, and neglect myself, steal my identity and then, being reduced to nothing, invent a competitive economy knowing that I cannot compete? Sounds very foolish, but this is what you propose when you place the blame on me or on "us." it was a fool who created this monster, one accustomed to power and it's use...I am his victim, born innocent, a total product of my surroundings. Everything that I an, I developed into because of circumstantial and situational pressures. I was born knowing noting; necessity and environment formed me, and everyone like me.
-George Jackson
Catholic School
the other way (catholic school) you pay more for less education, plus make emotional pansies of these fools with sanctimonious dogma....if my instructor tells me that the world and its affairs are run as well as they possibly can be, that i am governed by wise and judicious men, that i am free and should be happy, and if when i leave the instructors presence and encounter the exact opposite, if i actually sense or see confusion, war, inflation, recession, depression, death, and decay, is it not reasonable that i should become perplexed?...if my instructor relates to me that sex is bad, thinking its lustful and list is a sign of moral decay, what opinion will i have of myself (if i enjoy sex)?...they will teach you jesus christ is white, egyptians are white, people of india are white under their black skin, that the chinese are yellow when they range from brown to the blackest black... - George Jackson
Oh You Mad?!?
Uganda for oil in the historical marginalized north?
Establishing anger maintaining puppet leaders around the world?
Maternal mortality and infant mortality for black babies and mothers
Justice system that serves no justice, not about right and wrong but about trail expense and manipulation and persuasion
Incarceration rates and recidivism
Homicide rates and social response or lack thereof
Inhumane treatment of our people of color
Disconnect from global perspective and allegiance
American before we are people of color but our experience is that of a person of color before it is of an american
We are second class citizens and our “success” isn’t shit without power, we serve they purpose of legitimizing the system and perpetuating victim blame on our brothers and sisters who are treated unjustly and inhumane
When did our prisons get out of control? When are we going to do something about them?
Why is unemployment here always 2-3 times worse than white communities?
Why do our high schools resemble prisons and when did zero tolerance become the policy?
Why are more of our children left behind since they passed no child left behind?
We don’t have a black president, he is president before he is black; so we have a president who is black because he still maintains their structure, if he stays they will treat him like they treated jfk, mlk, and malcolm x
Yes we have freedom of speech but then why are we attacked and demonized when we speak out?
A topic of fear is a rumor that obama is muslim, the liberal defend that rumor with “no he is clearly christian” instead of “why does that even matter”does our 1st amendment not grant freedom of religion or do these laws only bear meaning to whites who are christian sect?
Why don’t we stand up for ourselves? Because we depend too much on the white man, even for they lefty liberals, we depend almost solely ob the white liberal. The occupy movement was their movement, instead of starting our own we complained like they owed us something. They do, but we know we won’t get our unless we go after it ourselves.
While we are fighting each other for the crumbs they are laughing and throwing away their leftovers. Will er want to eat too!!! Is that too much to ask? Or are we suppose to be happy with second class because we are second class in the richest nation?
We have it better than others? Those people suffering on other countries are our brothers and sisters as well, but believe this: as long as we have no power here we can never maker any impact for our brothers and sisters anywhere else in this world.
How much food do we throw away each day, how many people in our own communities are starving?
anyone who catches themselves following any religion that sports this governments horrendous ways is nothing more than a hypocrite, there is no religion that would condone or even turn a blind eye to these atrocities
Sexism, racism, classism, elitism, heterosexism…what is the true cost of freedom, because it obviously not free (as it should be)
If We Must Die...
“If we must die let it not be like hogs, hunted and pinned in an inglorious spot, while around us bark the mad and hungry dogs making their much at our accursed lot; if we must die then let us nobly die, so that our precious blood may not be shed in vain. Then even the monsters we defy shall be constrained to honor its through dead. We kinsmen must meet the common foe, though far outnumbered, let us show us brave and for their thousand blows, deal one death blow. What though before us lies the open grave, like men we’ll face the murderous pack, pressed to the wall, dying, but fighting back’ I don’t mind dying but I’d like to have the opportunity to fight back.” -George Jackson
Thoughts While Reading Malcolm
In the 60s it was very clear that the white man was responsible for the plight of poor people of color, black people in particular.
In response the white man created a number of conditions and systems that had handed over the weapons of explicit oppression to the oppressed and many people now mock the idea that “the man” is holding us down and have labeled that as a cop out. And even to the point that the level of victim blame is almost solely on the victims and they are now more than ever blamed for their conditions and the interpersonal oppressive roles we play towards each others.
We must identify and acknowledge how this use to be true, where and how the hand off was made and what the implications were of those hand off specifically. Then determine ideas on how to minimize our interpersonal oppression and combat the institutional oppression.
Identify how the white status quo benefits from black on black violence and how it perpetuates black suffering past the surface suffering, tying it into the bigger picture of negative imaging, population control, prison exploitation/slavery, and profit.
Control of natural resources through military forces controlled by material resources and money. Collective economics.
Electronics - chalk it up as a loss
Private/employee owned or worker owned Profit detoured into community development Non profit organizations with more community control and accountability
American't and wont
My nationality is hyphened with the term American. I was born here and raises here and benefited from the luxury of being an american, largely at the expense of people all over the world.
Do I identify with america and celebrate its history and independence, no. because there is a discrepancy between what america is supposed to be and what america has been since its conception.
Lies, deceit, manipulation, and corruption. The failure of the text of the declaration of independence and the constitution to apply to every person who is a citizen of this country is where the problem lies. A base received independence from britain and a large mass of people have still yet to see their importance actualize.
American leadership has consistently suppressed and oppressed the voices and equality of the others in our society. For that reason, I cannot align myself with the trained history and present standing of such a hypocritical and corrupted entity.
Many of us are american by nationality but are not granted the rights of americans nor has the impact of the events of the past been addressed in how out had effects our ability to experience our rights and freedoms. Yes some of us have it good thanks to luck and affirmative action, which has been destroyed in some key states. And we have already experienced much of the backlash to re-concentrate resources back to those who believe in a manifest destiny type of concept. Ever so present in the words of those doing very well in america saying things like we need to take this country back and that they are patriots. That’s all bullshit, the trust patriot would acknowledge the flaws and crimes this country had conjured and its currently committing and demand not only reparations to the people of color, women/womyn/wombyn, LGBTQ, people with disabilities, people of eastern european decent, and people following non christian traditional beliefs for the pain and injustices that turret and their ancestors have faced. And reparations are not solely monetary payment, there are several things that need to be done. We must remember that all americans have not had equal access to the rights of americans, at the very least land liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And the biggest threat to real freedom and democracy is fascist dictatorships and poverty in our country and abroad.
We cannot change the past but we must acknowledge the events that have transpired and the impact they have had on us and our modern society, but grumbling about the past will not repair the terror that has occurred. We must start by endued every american has access to the ir biological and psychological needs And then ensure they are receiving the proper education that teaches the true events and multiple cultural perspective and creates critical thinkers who are strongly engaged in their democracy.
We should not struggle all of our lives to work more should we work all of our lives to struggle. W have the right live our lives in a sustainable way that doesn’t infringe on the lives or freedom of others.
