My Hobby/New Venture – Today we officially announced the launch of a new product I’ve been working on (in my spare time) over the last several months. My Social Mashup is an application that allows users to manage all of their Social Media postings and marketing through one platform, and also includes a Social-ready website.
I wanted to create a web app from the idea phase all the way through having a working solution. I had a ton of fun and learned so much during this process.

Poor economy, what to do? Think like a start-up.
New Jersey, Oct. 13, 2011 /SocialMarCom - Social Blog wire/ Business is down, no such thing as customer loyalty anymore, low cash flow, no new customers coming in... said any of these, or at least thought them lately? You're not alone, everyone has. As hard as this next statement may be to read and ultimately do - you need to invest and Go Social MarCom. This is not the time to make excuses for why you can't, this is the time to reinvest in yourself and your business and seize the next wave of capturing your market share. Remember back to when you were just starting up, and had to take risks to survive...same concept here. Time to think like you're a start-up...again. Here is an action plan for you: Evaluate your current marketing spend, yellow pages, print ads, promotions, and yes even TV ads/commercials (I havent watched a commercial since I got a DVR, except for the super bowl). Get rid of the dog(s), meaning the one(s) you question what you get from it each and every time you cut the check. Take those funds, yes all of them, and allocate into a new form of social marketing. Website not getting much traffic, not getting new members to sign up for your newsletter (dont't have a newsletter?) , or no new names on your email lists? It is time for SEO - Search Engine Optimization, get eye balls on your site. However, the prerequisite is you need to have fresh and relevant content available to your visitors. Getting them there is great, but keeping them engaged, coming back, and spreading the word (SOCIALLY) is the goal. Thinking about launching a new website or redesigning your current, while a nice jester, may not be the best use of your funds at this time. Invest in getting your messages out to the masses, and creating good rich (fun) content is a better investment in the right-now. You can have the worlds greatest website, but what good is it if no one sees it?? In summary:
Evaluate your current spend - drop the dog(s) - allocate all $ towards a social marketing campaign- think "$ocial"
Create or reuse (other people's) good, fresh content
Get eye balls on your website
