OC week day 2: traditional clothing

I tried to come up with a more "drow-inspired" outfit for Blight (no, she wouldn't have been dressing this nicely in the underdark but shhh let me have fun 🫣)

I'm participating in @ocweek 2026, or at least some of it (I usually fall off these things a couple days in, but I'll do my best!)

Day 1: alternate universe

I have a tiefling rogue version of Angel that I made for dnd purposes, but she was also my Tav in the first bg3 campaign I finished. I love her!

she's a drow storm sorcerer, though I've played a version of her that's a storm cleric, too. as long as she's got thunder and lightning spells in her arsenal, basically lol, I associate her with that powerset.

the personality I have for her is that she is convinced her destiny is to become a goddess, with very little actual evidence towards this (she's sort of just crazy lol). she had a very neglected, isolated upbringing so she doesn't know how relate to people very well and she's not a great conversationalist.

she's pretty much terrified of vulnerability so she spends most of her time running from any feelings that aren't self-serving, but over time her relationships with the rest of her party become extremely important to her and she begins to act in ways she never would have before (so her romance with Astarion is a whole lot of them mirroring each other lol)

she's a durge, but the main reason she resists bhaal is just bc *she* wants to be the most powerful one - after all, she's a goddess, not the lackey to some other god! I've played her both 'good' and 'bad', and in both cases she isn't terribly altruistic, because she sees her calling as higher than that. she's not a very nice person, even in her 'good' version lol, but that's mostly because she's just so unwilling to feel vulnerable. and over time, especially in the 'good' run, she'll grow to care for the people who need her help and come to like being actively heroic.

I'm doing a bg3 run with @jimmyfission so I had to draw the party. Her character, Saraya, is with Karlach in this one, and Blight is still with Astarion

Blight talks big, but when it comes down to it she only has one friend and she isn't jeopardizing anything

she's probably telling herself her motivations were extremely selfish and practical right now

my current BG3 playthrough is both my first time playing an evil run and my first time playing a Dark Urge run. Her name is Blight, and I'm so obsessed with her. so is Astarion.

Michael Collier

Michael joined the story around the same time as Angel, but his role has expanded quite a lot! I think he technically was a character before she was, but he wasn't a main character until she came along and elevated him. Michael is one of the two (along with Joe) who I think has the most of myself in him - but don't read into that too much!

An outsider for almost all of his life, Michael is just trying to find the ecosystem he belongs to - and civilized society certainly isn't it! Desperate to be found useful, eager to please, and easy to take advantage of, he's a loyal animal looking for a loving owner, or at least someone who understands his purpose.

Angel Perez

Angel is a bit younger, as far as how long she's been a part of the story - three years instead of five - but she stole a sizable portion of the spotlight, changing most of the plot to revolve around her!

 So much of her life has been spent running away from herself and her past, she no longer knows who she is when she's standing still - not a problem if you just never settle down, right?

While she may like to style herself as a lone wolf - no attachments, no feelings, no risk - that all comes crumbling down quickly when she meets a very unexpected kindred spirit. Before she knows it, she's breaking all her own rules, and finding herself in some very dangerous situations as a result.

Dea Prince

Rounding out the trio is Dea, Joe's muse and eventual wife. Though she's been in the story since more or less the beginning, her role has changed and grown A Lot!

Dea is a musician and lover of all weird art; she and Joe meet at the record store where she works, and bond over their shared unique artistic interests.

When tragedy shakes up Dea's life in a major way, she has to rely on all her wits, creativity, and the depth of her love to find her way back home.

Sam Sharpe

Sam is the other original, next to Joe as one of two characters who have been with me for the entire five years I've been planning this story - and unlike Joe, Sam has remained fairly unchanged over that time.

Sam carries a lot of baggage, and doesn't deal with any of it well. The only person he gets along with is Joe, so naturally he'll fumble that as badly as he possibly can.

Unfriendly, laconic, and disloyal - what more could you ask for in a best friend?

Joseph Duval

One of the five protagonists in my story, which I've been developing for about five years now!

Joe is one of the two originals, he's been with me for all of those five years, but he's undergone so many changes during that time. It makes me so happy to see who he's become, I really love him 🩷🩷🩷

Joe is an aspiring painter and photographer, nerdy about music, and unshakably loyal to the people he loves. His wife, Dea, has gone missing, and he'll do whatever he has to to find her - including making some very powerful enemies!
