Spike/Anya - Demons in the Night
"Depends," Anya tilted her chin up in the air and starred down at Spike through her eyelashes. "Who's all staying at your little camp?" she asked, genuinely curious to know who these other survivors were while clasping her hands together behind her back. Anya was better off on her own, but it would be nice to have someone to listen to her sarcasm and endless puns.
He snorted. "Hell, if you're gonna be all picky 'bout it...reckon you can stay here, pet." He was eager to get back before the walkers heard the dinner bell.

Anya shifted her posture awkwardly, unsure of how to answer Spike's rhetorical question and immediately moving onto the next, more obvious inquisition. "I am... Alone, that is," she answered before craning her torso to the side and glancing back at the empty car behind Spike. "I take it you're riding solo, too?"
He almost said yes out of habit, but caught himself at the last minute, stem still tied firmly around his finger. "No...got a camp, s'matter o' fact. Just in town to knick some supplies n' all that." Thinking for a second, figuring everyone would be relieved there was another survivor, he too looked over at the car. "Could come along, y'know...if you want. Unless fightin' n' scrappin' alone is your thing."

Anya glanced down at the parking meter she still grasped in her left hand then back at Spike before tossing the scrap of metal off to the side, waiting for the loud 'klink' to sound as it struck the pavement before dusting her hands off on the fabric of her jeans. "Serves you right...sneaking up on me like that... Shame on you," Anya wagged an aimless finger in the vampire's direction. "Do you have any idea what anxiety does to a human nowadays? I maybe have fifty years or so left in me and I'm already finding gray hairs near my forehead... Gray!" She exclaimed with wide eyes while running a hand through her shoulder length golden locks as if Spike could identify the small hairs as well.
"But I'm glad everyone thinks so well of me. Dead," she scoffed. "I might have lost my powers and the only friends I've ever had but I'm...I'm still truckin'"she added while swinging a thumbs up across her midriff in one swift motion. "What? Didn't think poor Anya didn't come equip with survival instincts? You all keep forgetting I've been on this planet the longest. I've had my fair share of apocalypses."
He raised his arms defensively. "Never thought that. S'easier though, innit? No body, no word...has nothin' to do with the poor sod themselves. Easier to assume they've copped it, s'all." Realizing his eye was starting to swell shut, he cursed. "Right...so, little Miss Survival Instincts...you alone?"
Spike/Anya - Demons in the Night
Squinting through the darkness, there was one distinct feature about the stranger she had wacked upside the skull with a parking meter and that was this man's bleach blonde hair that shone like a beacon in the night. "Spike?" Anya wrinkled her nose and bent her spine forward to get a second look at the familiar face.
"Yeah," he mumbled, getting to his feet, clutching the side of his head. "S'me. Make a habit o' hittin' people with random metal you find in the the bloody road?" Ignoring the very ugly mark he'd have on his face, he looked up at Anya. "Thought you were dead."
Spike/Anya - Demons in the Night
Having survived the first impact of the strange virus threatening humanity sweeping across North America, Anya had been managing life pretty well on her own. She very much enjoyed the privacy. With the population of Sunnydale being undead and hungry for human flesh, her former demon blood had kept her safe from infection. Anya had been holed up in her apartment for the most part, occasionally venturing into town for the bare necessities, sauntering past the walking dead with no trouble at all. The ex demon never had many friends to begin with, so she was no stranger to loneliness.
She had been minding her own business as usual, a few plastic bags of food in hand until she heard a car door slam. And last time she checked, these zombies had zero brain activity and hardly any other motor functions. That narrowed it down to an intelligent demon or possibly another form of human life.
Quickly thinking on her toes, Anya whipped her head around in search of some sort of weapon, anything that could be used as protection. Her eyes came in contact with a broken parking meter knocked out of the concrete and on it's side. It wasn't one's ideal sword or battle axe, but it'll do for the time being.
As soon as she set her bags of groceries down, Anya bent over to pick up the meter and gripped it firmly with both hands, careful to monitor her footing to remain undetected as best as she could.
Swinging the axe once to loosen up his muscles and ready himself for a fight, if need be, he walked around the De Soto and into the street. He only saw one or two walkers down the road, pawing uselessly at a chain-link fence. Shrugging it off, he began to walk back to his car, when suddenly he sensed someone behind him. He turned again, ready to battle it out, when he felt himself fall to the ground as he was smacked in the head with--hell, was that a parking meter?
Spike/Anya - Demons in the Night
Spike had volunteered to run into town. With the new additions, they needed more food (and, he thought dryly, more blood). It was nighttime and, as a vampire, he not only stood the least chance of getting permanently put down by the walkers, but he also had the best night vision.
Choosing his beat up De Soto over the flashy SUV, he made his way into town, stalking around the outskirts of the hospital. Having grabbed some canned and boxed food from the cafeteria, some meds, and a large cooler of donated blood, he'd loaded the goods in the back of his car and had contemplating finding himself some cigarettes when he heard a noise and jerked up, axe in hand.
Spike/Faith - How Spaith Got Their Groove Back
faithbyfive:
Faith had to bite back a little, knowing smile as he pulled away gruffly. She knew him too well, and knew he was trying to distance himself from their (admittedly super mushy) mush, and get them home before the sun came up. A little shiver ran through her as the shelter his body had offered left, and she became doubly aware of how cold it was to her exposed body. “We should probably head back,” She said regretfully, half turning towards their little unceremonious pile of clothes. “All the other couples’ll be jealous we managed to sneak off for so long.”
“Didn’t sneak off…we were guardin’ the water supply.” But knowing she had a point he sighed. “Reckon you’re right, love.” Besides…the camp’d been mighty quiet while they’d been having their proper shag.
His head somehow turning the silence into Liam’s fighting for his life, he began to pull on his pants, reluctance forgotten. Hell, if something’d happened to the boy while they were gone…he’d never forgive himself.
As she followed his lead, tying the loose string on her shorts, and shimmying back into her tank top, she glanced past their small cover of trees, a little anxiety about going back running through her. What if they never got a moment like this again? Something awful could happen to any one of them, any time, and there’d be no preparing for it. She found herself more than a little unwilling to just leave this little sanctuary they had created - even if it was only for an hour or two. But that’s what they were now. Soldiers, that didn’t get time for personal problems. They had to go back.
When they were both dressed - though not entirely free of evidence from their little hookup, she noted, as she plucked a leaf from her hair - she twined her hand in his. “Ready?”
Doing his best to flatten his hair back (and, unbeknownst to him, failing), Spike nodded. "As I'll ever be."
As they walked back to camp, he thought back on the past few hours and the hell that awaited them once the real world came limping back into their lives, snarling and growling and oozing goo. He could be torn to bits tomorrow...but even if he were, at least he could be content in the fact that he'd go out happy.
Spike/Faith - How Spaith Got Their Groove Back
He was such a sodding nancy…but right then, it was all worth it. The world had gone to shite, and he’d do whatever he had to to make carryin’ on seem worthwhile. “I love you too.” Standing there for a few moments, clinging to the last bit of happiness either o’ them’d probably get for a long while (possibly ever, if the walkers had their way), he finally pulled away, clearing his throat, putting on a show of being all masculine and cocky. “Right. So…that’s that, then.” He was grateful it was cold, because they’d just spent the last few minutes pressing their naked bodies together, and if they had any hope of getting back to camp in the next hour or two, he had to keep his manly bits in order.

Spike/Faith - How Spaith Got Their Groove Back

“Yeah, that one,” She nodded, and smiled. She could imagine it perfectly. Both of them freaking out over whether or not they could even dance, all their friends there. It’d be outside, under the stars. Liam would come and dance with them. “I wish we could do that, really, one day.”
“We will,” he told her firmly, not really believing it himself. Thinking for a moment, he continued. “Til then…got an idea.” Lifting her slightly and standing, he helped her up. Here goes nothing. “What I’m ‘bout to do, love, stays between us, yeah?” Peering into the woods nearby, making sure no zombies’d try and get the jump on them, he turned to her, suppressing a smirk as he realized they were both still naked. Carefully resting his hands on her waist, he lowered his head to her ear and, taking a moment to recall as much of the song as possible, he began to hum and sing it softly in her ear, just loud enough for the two of them to hear. Didn’t sing a lot…n’ never in front of other people. Mainly just to himself, rocking along with the radio. But it was all he had…makeshift music to go with a makeshift wedding. But he was ridiculously, stupidly happy…only took a century of livin’ to give him something worth livin’ for.
She looked at him with an amused, raised eyebrow, wondering what in the world he was going to do that required all the intrigue. As he took her waist, her hands slid up to his shoulders, high school prom style, a little smile on her face. And when he started singing soft in her ear, she opened her mouth in a bit of surprise and grinned, listening to the whole thing. Faith hadn’t heard him sing since Liam was a baby. And even then, only snippets caught on the baby monitor. She thought she might cry, she was so happy. They swayed gently and just barely, barefoot and naked in the damp grass, and when he stopped, she leaned her head on his shoulder. “That was perfect…I love you.”

He raised a surprised eyebrow. “Right…s’that it, then? Righteous Brothers?” Talk ‘bout bein’ unpredictable…no one’d reckon that particular dittyy for the pair o’ them. But maybe that’s why it worked…never ones for doin’ the obvious, Faith n’ him.

“Remember who you’re talkin’ to…like John Hughes s’much as any self-respectin’ demon can, but I’ve never been to a prom.” He wracked his brain. “How sad n’ croony are we talkin? Unchained Melody, like? Or somethin’ with a bit more edge?”
“I like that song,” She answered, surprised to note that she actually knew the song. “Very croony.” She added with a chuckle, tipping her head back to kiss his cheek. It was just too bad they’d never really be able to dance to it.

OOC:
P.S. I would totally support Unchained Melody as the song, but it seems almost too fluffy for Spaith.
But lyrically it works too.
In my defense it perfectly fits the description I was given. I'm sort of proud of myself.
Spike/Faith - How Spaith Got Their Groove Back
“Dunno..” Faith slid her arms on top of his, leaning back into him. “Something pretty, a grown up song.” She wasn’t making much sense, she knew, but she thought the sort of songs her mother would sing while getting ready - the few moments of happy normalcy she remembered from childhood - were nice. Croony, sad songs, but pretty. Carly Simon, and John Lennon. “One you can slow dance to, like a stupid prom.”

“The Ramones?” Faith crinkled her nose, laughing. “You’re so British.” She teased, climbing into his lap, back pressed against his chest. A wedding song? She’d never been a big music aficionado or anything, most of her tastes having been developed during her rebellious teen years. Offspring, Metallica, The Misfits…anthems of tortured youth. But she guessed with Spike having been around for as long as he had, he’d have better selections than her. “Maybe it should be Billy Idol, y’know, come full circle.”
He gave an incredulous snort. "Like hell. 'Nother crack like that, love, n' I might have to divorce you." But even as he teased her, he wrapped his arms around her waist, nuzzling her neck gently as he thought. "Right then...shelve The Ramones. What kinda music've you got in mind?"
