Finding info on Time Based Media
Once every 3 years I get the opportunity to teach at the School of Conservation in Copenhagen on the topic of Time Based Media. As a help to find more on the topic I usually have some links for the students. In this post Iâll mention a few sites that focus on how to document and make a workflow for dealing with Time Based Media in a collection.
Matters in Media: A collaboration between MoMA, SFMoMA and Tate. It includes quite a few useful documents and an explanation of the whole workflow when working with time based media. All the way from before the museum acquires the artwork, assessing the costs of installation and preservation and also how to document different types of media, from video tapes to projectors.
