seeing leftist groups/orgs not masking but talking about how all we have is community and the like, is a bit strange, are we all in this or not
It may be time to dust off the face masks and air purifiers.
(CNN) - It may be time to dust off the face masks and air purifiers. The US is in the midst of a significant Covid-19 wave, with viral activity levels in wastewater the highest they’ve been for a summer surge since July 2022, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s wastewater dashboard. The CDC’s measure of national Covid viral activity in wastewater rose to 8.82 on August 10 – falling shy of a peak of 9.56 in July 2022. The CDC says the most recent data is incomplete and may change. Before it started rising again in May, it was at 1.36. “Currently, the COVID-19 wastewater viral activity level is very high nationally, with the highest levels in the Western US region,” Dr. Jonathan Yoder, deputy director of the CDC’s Wastewater Surveillance Program, said in an email. “This year’s COVID-19 wave is coming earlier than last year, which occurred in late August/early September.” Emergency room visits, hospitalizations and deaths are also ticking up, although not to the same extent as infections, according to the CDC’s Covid dashboard. As of the end of July, the CDC’s dashboard shows about 4are being hospitalized for Covid for every 100,000 people in a given area, up from a low in May of about one Covid hospitalization for every 100,000 people – the lowest level since the pandemic began. The CDC’s wastewater data closely aligns with what they’re seeing at the nationwide WastewaterSCAN network, too. “This is a very significant surge. The levels are very high. They’re the highest we’ve ever seen during a summer wave,” said Dr. Marlene Wolfe, an assistant professor of environmental health and public health at Emory University and a program director for WastewaterSCAN. “We’re detecting SARS-CoV-2 in 100 percent of our samples across the country right now.”
How is it when the president of the US (who said Covid is over!) gets Covid and steps down from the race people still act like the pandemic is over? How is it that Olympians are sweepingly getting Covid and dropping out people still act like Covid is mild??
People who are on international stages, with incredible power or ability, get Covid and then are too sick to function. Why doesn’t this alarm anyone?
review yall didnt ask for: the brothers sun
rip to a real ass bitch. bruce didnt deserve you
"for the family" nigga your family is horrible
been MIA from here for a while but i'm peeking my head back in to say hi
me preferring novavax as a vaccine brand doesnt mean the mrna's are useless but that the way they were formulated means you need to be aware they dont make you uniquely immune or better protected. none of these vaccines do - even novavax has limits despite its great findings.
this virus is so ever-changing that there's a random mf in ohio who has been shedding a COMPLETELY UNIQUE variant of this virus for MONTHS into their wastewater system.
like... to take for granted that vaccines are tools of survival and not guarantees against long covid or death is very naive to me.
i have disposable n95s that i got on one of those "the public health emergency directive ended" sales and i need to dm a twitter oomfie to learn how to organize a maskbloc
i want to donate some of these masks but i dont have to experience necessary 😔
i also wanna show yall more strategies to prevent covid in the future
if you get the opportunity to get any vaccine for covid (this fall 2023 the CDC might allow certain demographics to get another booster), try to get Novavax.
that vaccine is the only one that offers protection from multiple newer variants on just the base dosage.
with the boosters, people are still seeing great metrics for protection and some long covid sufferers are finding some relief from symptoms after they receive the booster.
obviously, it's not a cure-all but it is still better coverage than mrna so far or none at all.
you're still going to need to mask with at least a kn94/kn95 and higher to be the best protected.
oh... just checked the covid conscious tag and a lot of yall are not ready like... twitter is miles ahead in covid preparedness and yall aint even talking about the amount of air changes per hour.... no air purifiying diys... no "filters on sale" posts....
omg im going to try to disseminate everything i learned bc yall are still too nervous to say ppl should mask outdoors and the ppl still not masking are eugenicists like yall are not ready at all.
if none of yall want to use a bulky gas mask like the 3m one and the cost of auras is a future or current concern, try the this one i got.
(try to look for one on sale but i would not trust amazon unless you are using the manufacturer's own listing)
you'll have to pay attention to the sizing but the mask is more compact, holds up to higher humidity, you can use p100 filters, and replacements are cost comparable to 3m.
in the long run it's better to have a respirator on hand as a backup plan.
the only flaw i have with the mask so far is how flappy the straps are.
now i gotta find virologists or other covid conscious people to follow so i can stay up to date on new covid varients 😭
and then i gotta find all the ppl i privately followed on twitter who i loved seeing post on twitter
sad about twitter bc the main reason i migrated there was for covid safety strategies and updates from like minded ppl and now all my niggas are going onto exclusive beta platforms... shit is evil
fyi the only covid RAT tests worth getting now are flow flex and they on sale at costco now until tomorrow
Review Yall Didn't Ask For: Glass Onion
I've watched this movie like 2 times and a half so I feel confident enough to say all of the pitfalls that existed in the empowerment narrative for marta seemed to be improved when it came to andi brand.
no spoilers for this one because it's still really fresh on streaming but the problems i had with how marta was written as a passive character and wasn't fully allowed by the white writer to be actually angry at her circumstances or at the people causing her harm was done significantly better this time.
I enjoyed how Benoit's character was explored as well. I guessed the killer early on but psyched myself out of it by overthinking too 😭
overall i really enjoyed that movie and rec it more than the first one if you want to see an active main character!
yall i was so butch today.... i repaired my toliet and replaced all the parts that were broken
yall im still here im just mostly on twitter 😭 im also lurking here so dont mass unfollow just be patient!
review for glass onion coming soon along with the others
