Hey, I'm the "My Sylveon plushie needs a bath" anon again. I appreciate the advice! Two questions I had from your answer though: 1. is 8" small enough to air-dry? (9.5" if you include the ears, but I'm pretty sure they're empty) 2. Since you said to soak him, I want to double-check that it's alright to let him get really wet? A plushie I had as a kid got ruined by getting too wet, so I want to make sure it'll be fine if the water seeps all the way through. Thank you again!
I’m pretty sure 8″ should be small enough to air dry! Just put him in a really dry area, in front of a window or fan.
It should be fine as long as you squeeze him out really well and dry him with a towel thoroughly, I’ve also just been informed by the blog owner that you shouldn’t soak your plush for very long unless hes really dirty and needs to be deep cleaned, so please be careful! I would recommend soaking for only 5 minutes or alittle under if hes really dirty, and under 2 minutes if hes not that dirty. I would only recommend soaking for longer if you have a dryer since thats the only way to make sure hes thoroughly dry! I hope ur plush bathing experience goes well!!

Originally bought this little guy during a sleep-deprived snack run at walmart during my sophomore year of college. Ended up being a close companion during my junior and senior year, both to help with memorizing for exams, to cuddle and calm myself down during stressful senior projects, and just as a nice little dorm buddy.
Unfortunately, in case it wasn’t obvious, he’s gotten a little dirty over the years. I want to give him a nice bath, but I’m afraid of messing him up while cleaning him. Do any of y'all have advice for cleaning plushies like this one? Please and thank you!
Hmm, Depending on whether or not the plush is able to withstand being washed roughly, putting them in the washing machine and washing them normally should work, although if you want to make sure your plushy comes out 100% undamaged, I would recommended washing them in the bathtub or sink! use a gentle laundry detergent and then gently squeeze and wash him, soak him for maybe 20 to 30 minutes, then rinse him out really well! Air drying is okay for small plushies but I would use a dryer for a medium sized to bigger. If you don’t have access to one you can use a fan or a hair dryer! If the material feels a bit rough you could try crushing him with a toothbrush or hairbrush with simular bristles.
