Did you know that the Eastern Hercules Beetle (Dynastes tityus) is a beetle found in the eastern US? Like other related beetles, the males have prominent horns and the larvae feed on decaying wood.

Their elytra often change colour depending on the moisture of their environment. The more moist their home, the darker the elytra and when they dry out more they show their lighter colours (usually tan, green, or grey) and unique splotting pattern.

Maybe Seek is an entity that follows the player because it is jealous of their human shape. hm. I meeeean, it tries to keep a humanoid shape in the hotel chase but it's still uncanny... It observes the player's features with its many eyes, from many angles, but still can't replicate it as perfectly as it wishes for, so it tries to assimilate with the player, and chases them
