found this guy on youtube called jacob jones. he smokes and drinks. hes awesome, new favorite person to watch. i drew this because i had an itch but dont have the talent right now to make it more complete
because i had to have a profile picture for my art blog, heres my best work: messmer the impaler from elden ring. funny thing is, i have never played the game, but some of my friends do. one of them, who is a HUGE fan of the game streamed one of his saves for me and while fighting messmer, i decided to draw a "simple sketch" because his design is awesome. well, after 3 days i had this
i consider it my best work because while i consider some things not great currently (ive improved my anatomy and would take a different approach to the rendering), unfortunately i havent had a drawing that is as good or i have spent this amount of care/detail on in the span of a few days out of sheer creativity and determination. this was february of 2025. i kind of feel ashamed of myself
you can find inspiration and drive to draw in odd places
had to draw specimen for my bio 202 lab and drew the crayfish we had to dissect before/after dissection. i really enjoyed drawing it and redrew it digitally and colored it
what i drew vs what i referenced
it felt nice to draw it, focusing on each segment of the crustacean. i drew the anatomy as close as possible (without wasting time) but colored it kinda accurately. i still need to figure out how i want to color and render things. you would think after 10+ years of drawing i wouldve figured it out
