01.11.2016 • Halloween dinner 🎃🍴!
Okay, we didn't celebrate is on the day itself, but that doesn't matter! The first time I kind of 'celebrated' it three years ago, but that was... Different 😅. Me, and a few other friends just dressed up in black and went to the city to hand out candy, and in the evening we had some apple pie and cupcakes.
This time, Wingyi and Maggie organized this Halloween dinner where we had to be dressed up (I'm dressed up as popcorn, just in case if you haven't noticed 😜...). They spent all day on preparing the food! We had pumpkin soup, sausages, goulash, mashed potatoes, and more I dishes, that I can't even recall 😱.. And the dessert was amazingly cute 😍! It consisted of a brownie with strawberries, topped with white chocolate sauce!
I really enjoyed creating the popcorn outfit, and the dinner of course! So curious about next year's costumes 😝!
23.10.2016 • Amsterdam Music Festival 2016
Last year, I also went to this indoor electronic music festival 🎉. I remember I had a great time back then, but I think this year was even better! It was cold at the venue, just like the year before, but luckily the alcohol kept us warm 😁. And, this year we brought our own flags! A Dutch one, and one of China of course 🙋🏻!. Seeing Steve Aoki throwing cakes at the crowd was definitely one of the highlights of this day.
Don’t do that. Don’t just vanish on her. You’ll leave her thinking about you every morning when she wakes up and every night before she goes to sleep, for a long, long time. Wondering what happened. Wondering whether she should still worry, or even care about you. Glancing at her phone all the time, hoping that the glow will reflect your name on the screen. Ignoring the fact that deep down she knows it won’t. You’ll become her biggest distraction. She won’t be able to concentrate, and she’ll see pieces of you in everyone she meets. Don’t leave her embarrassed to tell anyone she misses you, or feeling like she’ll look pathetic if she tells them she still loves you. Holding in her feelings and struggling to believe she’s better than this. Don’t be a ghost. Just don’t. It’s not fair. She’s worth more than that, and you know it.

17.09.2016 • Graduation ceremony 🎓!
I finally got my Bachelor or Business Administration!
Had to wait 3 months until the official ceremony, and unfortunately my eye got an infection, but I’m glad I attended this event. After a long time I felt like I’ve actually achieved something in my life. On the other hand, I actually felt a bit sad to end this chapter in my life.
Time flew by way too fast… In those past few years I’ve experienced so many life experiences.. Even though there were a lot of downs, there were certainly also a lot of ups. The best part must’ve been the time I spent in Shanghai for exchange and internship..
But as always, there’s always need for change in my life.. As I’m officially graduated now, it’s to move onto a new chapter in my life..
22.08.2016 - 26.08.2016 • Slovenia 🇸🇮
Monday morning, I bought a ticket from Rotterdam Central Station to Brussels South Station. From there on, I took the bus and after a total of 3 hours traveling, I arrived (way too early) at Brussels Charleroi Airport 😅. I was tired, but excited! The airport was ridiculously small, there was no Wi-Fi, and I still had to wait 4 hours before my flight’s departure, so I decided to take a nap.
At 05:30PM it was finally time to go to Slovenia, the eenie meenie country I never had heard before 3 years ago. Not even 1,5 hours later, I set foot on Slovenian ground 😱. I changed from comfy clothes to normal clothes and walked to the exit, searching for Manca and Gregor, who’d pick me up.
Then, not realizing I was already at the exit of the airport, a girl with a big smile quickly came towards me! After two years I finally got reunited with her 😊! Behind her stood Gregor, probably not really sure how to greet me.
Then, we walked to the parking lot (Gregor, holding my luggage, and me talking with Manca) and we drove to Matic’s place to pick him up. While driving, I was completely impressed by the beautiful scenery: hills, mountains, lots of green and a very clean environment 😍.
We picked up Matic and then drove to the city center. We walked around a bit and then there, at the main square (Prešeren Square), was Nika with her boyfriend 😊! We first went for a night snack, called burek (the meat version, which is the worst version according to the most) and then we went for some drinks. I couldn’t believe how cheap the wine actually was (2,40 for one glass of wine 😱!), and we talked a lot about random stuff, but mostly, Shanghai memories. Andrej joined us as well. I felt so happy, being reunited with my friends ❤️! Unfortunately Nika and her boyfriend had to leave earlier, as they were going to France in the early morning.
The following morning I woke up, took a shower and did my make up. In the meanwhile I got to meet Gregor’s mother. My first impressions: so open, welcoming and sweet 😄! I can still clearly remember how she was out of breath after running up and down from the stairs, telling me: “Uff, I took too many steps.”
Then I went downstairs, where I had čokolino and a croissant for breakfast. According to Gregor, nobody from outer Slovenia likes it, so I guess I was the first person ever to like it 😌. It actually reminded me of “havermout”, but chocolate flavoured. Then while he was picking up Manca, his mom told me her breakfast consists of 5 plums and asked me to eat plums as well, so I took one as well.
Then, around 12:30PM, Gregor drove Manca and me to Ljubljana Castle. The sky was so clear and the view was amazing 😍! I loved how the buildings looked like from up above. We walked a bit and then Manca and me went to the city center to get some ice cream, while Gregor had to run some errands.
After walking down the hill, we arrived at Cacao, where I had two scoops of ice cream (compared to in NL, actually 4 scoops 😂..). I loved the fresh flavour of mango/red orange, even though my tongue started to itch after eating it. Then we took some photo’s at Tromostovje (three bridges), walked a bit, and then we went for drinks at Makalonca, along the Ljubljanica River, where we’d wait for Gregor and Domen for dinner.
After talking lots and lots with Manca, Gregor, Domen and Matic arrived. Matic, is a funny guy actually. He said: “I only came to say hi!” And then he had to go again 😄. So after finishing our drinks, we walked to a Mexican restaurant, called “Cantina Mexicana”. The guys ordered beer, and Manca and me water (for free?!). I took the pollo de vino blanco: chicken filet in wine and garlic sauce, together with mashed potatoes 😋.
Then we visited a bookstore where Gregor bought a book for his dad and Manca accidentally snatched away a Chinese dictionary that Gregor wanted to buy. He got pretty angry about it actually.. We walked to this relaxing spot where we sat down and relaxed for a while.
Afterwards we tagged along when Gregor had to go to the office for a while, and then he drove Manca home. Somehow, he came up with the idea to drive to the mountain Krvavec, where we spotted 3 foxes and 2 deers. The starry sky left me breathless, but confusion also came along 😣..
The following morning, Gregor had to go to the office first. I had čokolino and croissant and also ate bread with cheese and sausage. Then we had to go to some place where Gregor had to refill the coffee vending machine. Afterwards we switched the car for a really old, but cute car (fičo) and he drove us to the seaside. During the trip we came across a naked man, sunbathing along the road and we stopped at one certain point, where we could see Italy 😱. After 3 hours, we arrived at Koper, where we had lunch and then we walked a bit. Then we drove to Izola and Portorož. Unfortunately time went too fast and we couldn’t got back too late in Ljubljana, because Manca wanted to hang out with us as well. Back in Ljubljana, we met with Manca and watched the movie Fantastic Mr. Fox on a big projection screen, and then went for a drink.
The following morning I met Gregor his sister, who got back from her holiday. She told me she had lived in the Netherlands (Wierden) for a while, for her training to become a equestrian. Then, Andrej arrived as well, and we had breakfast together. Also, their mother baked some pastries, so we had to try them as well 😀! After finishing breakfast Andrej drove us to the bank first (Gregor had to fix a minor thing), and then he picked up Manca. After around 40 minutes, we arrived at the stunning Lake Bled. The water was amazingly clear, and I was actually surprised that there weren’t that many people over there. We walked a bit, had pizza for lunch and ate the cream cake kremšnita and then went to lake Bohinj 😍. This lake was even more beautiful than Lake Bled.. The Julian Alps and Triglov could be seen from here on as well!
Time actually went way too fast, because the following day was actually already my last day.. In the backyard, Gregor, his mom and I had breakfast and then we had to visit the office once again. In the afternoon we hiked Šmarna gora. I died multiple times, but the view was so worth it 😅.. Then we quickly had to go back home, where we had homemade tortellini for lunch with Gregor his mom and sister. After taking a shower and packing my stuff, we arrived at the airport at 6PM. Normally there would never be a queue, but this time there was, and so my flight had a delay..
At 9:20PM I arrived at Brussel Charleroi Airport, where Mo picked me up. Then he wanted to visit his aunt for a few minutes and afterwards we hung around with his cousins as well. By 01:30AM I finally got back home. That’s when I realized my holiday has ended for real 😔..
17.08.2016 - 18.08.2016 • Roadtrip to Paris & Versailles 💕.
Still tired from visiting the attraction park Walibi the day before, we got into the car and started out mini trip at 07:00 am.
After around 1 hour, we stopped at a gas station in Belgium, and we started with our breakfast: croissants & Activia yoghurt. Of course I had to spill mine 😂.
Then we continued our journey, and apparently we were avoiding the toll roads, so it took us ages to arrive at our first destination... At 14:00pm we were finally in Paris 😍! Unfortunately the parking lot was still quite far from the places we wanted to visit, and it was extremely hot that day..
So we decided to buy Vietnamese baguettes first and then had lunch at Pho 13. Afterwards we went back and took a quick powernap in the car. After waking up, we visited the Louvre and had the most expensive coke ever: 7 euro's per glass 😱!!! Afterwards we went to the Eiffel Tower and shot a few pictures over there.
In the evening we drove to Versailles. The staff was really friendly and told us how to reach the parking lot. The room was clean and the wall was painted with King Louis XIV & the gardens of Versailles 😝.
The following morning we had breakfast at the hotel and then went off to Versailles castle and the garden. The details, all the gold.. Everything was very impressive! And let's not forget about the huge garden 😱 ! Unfortunately we couldn't spend much time over there, so we had typical French food (snails, steak tartare, onion soup, french fries...) for lunch before we went back to the Netherlands 😅.
06.07.2016 - 08.07.2016 • Solo SRPRS.ME trip to Dublin, Ireland 🇮🇪🍀! Also went to Kilkenny & Wicklow Mountains! The people were so friendly, and I was lucky that it didn't rain during the trip. Had a delicious traditional Irish meal, called "boxty" (potato pancake), saw a lot of historical buildings, made new friends, enjoyed the nature over there, and loved the cute pubs and shops 🌺🌻!

It’s such a dickmove to dump me in the club. It’s a bigger dickmove to lead me on for months -telling me you’re too busy and you’re too afraid to commit-, and eventually date some other girl in public. You’re a freaking asshole. For giving me hope that we could work out. For telling me you have feelings for me. For telling me you have a fear of commitment and that you weren’t ready to commit. For dating some other girl while telling me that. For ignoring me when I confront you about it. For not being honest with me. For avoiding me when I run into you and that girl.. I guess “us” was all fun and games to you. You weren’t planning on staying anyway. You never prioritized me. I was never important to you. But it’s okay. You showed me how heartless people can be. How unhuman someone can be. You told me I deserve better. That’s probably the only true thing you’ve ever told me. I actually do deserve better. You showed me that you’re not the guy who I deserve. I don’t need a guy who fucks around with others, or a guy who can’t be honest about their feelings. I don’t need a guy who easily ignores someone who really cares about him.

26.05.2016 • I was feeling blue the morning I woke up. I still felt like nobody really understood my situation: a guy who broke my heart, bad family relationships, thesis stress & not knowing what path to walk…
Anyhow, it was my birthday and I had to face the day: an appointment in the morning with my thesis supervisor and dinner with my longtime friend Sandra.
Before I left home, I decided to treat myself and bought a freshly baked croissant and a refreshing iced macchiato to-go.
With only one bus stop left until my arrival, I managed to spill my coffee in my backpack. I walked to the nearest bench and took out my stuff, threw my coffee and drenched croissant away, and rushed to the Turkish kebab store next to the bus stop. I told the man behind the counter I spilled coffee, and asked him: “Can I perhaps get a plastic bag and use some tissues to clean my backpack?” The man thought for a second -probably wanting to ask money for the plastic bag- but gave it to me anyway. I probably looked really pathetic. I thanked him and put my stuff in it and continued cleaning my backpack. The man became annoyed because I was using too many tissues, so I decided to leave.
At school, I rushed to the washing room and continued patting my backpack and important stuff -such as my passport, laptop and chargers- dry. Afterwards I rushed to my supervisor’s office and told him what happened. He joked about it, for several times, while discussing my thesis and left for his next appointment.
I, then got myself new breakfast at the canteen and received some birthday wishes from Tom, Sidney, Bas, Ismaël, Choi and Milie, received a cupcake from Xiao & Marvin, revised my thesis and handed it in again.
Then I went home to change my bag and got ready for dinner. I met up with Sandra and we went to “Alan & Pim’s”. Once arrived, we had to wait for a few minutes before we could get a table. We ordered a glass of rosé and a bottle of water. The time between ordering and eating took awhile, since we both wanted to pick photogenic dishes and had to take photos and Snapchats as well. Such foodies we are.
The food was delicious: grilled chicken, fries & a Caesar salad. We couldn’t finish it, and yet we asked for the dessert card. While talking and waiting for our desserts, the waitress arrived with a heavenly big piece of chocolate cake, with on top of it, two burning candles: “23”.
The waitress mentioned: “It’s your birthday right? My colleague actually put 32 on it, but I changed it, haha.”. We took some pictures and I blew out the candles and thanked my friend. I felt appreciated.
Afterwards we went to a social event from the Chinese Student Association. It was a bit dull, so we -and some others- eventually went to Club Bed and ate at Hung Kee. At 05:30am I was home, and finally went to bed. It was a good day, and most of the time I wouldn’t think of the guy who broke my god damn heart.
The next morning I took a shower and washed my hair. Joyce was bringing me my suitcase back and Wingyi wanted to bring me hangover food. But next to that, Wingyi also brought me cupcakes for my birthday, and we went to a food festival, called Asia aan de Maas. It wasn’t that interesting, but it was good to spend some time with her.
The following days Maggie brought me cupcakes while having sushi for lunch, my best friend Alvard got me chocolate and perfume as well, and her parents gave me flowers.
I, now start to realize how precious friendship actually is. Friends don’t need to be physically around all the time. The little things they do, and the time they make, is already enough. It makes me grateful. It’s the love that comes out of friendship what makes me keep going on, when I want to give up..

1. We met on the internet and to me, he was the love of my life. But we were young and he wasn’t serious at all. He broke my heart immensely by cheating on me. I cried over him for over a year and still thought of him years after. 2. We started off as friends. He was really sweet to me and we lasted pretty well, but in the end our feelings died and soon after he got a new girlfriend. I actually knew from the beginning that the relationship wouldn’t last forever and I actually wasn’t that upset about us breaking up. 3. I wasn’t attracted at first, because I was in a relationship. Slowly I noticed he was amazingly charming, but it was more like a holiday romance, since we both were on exchange. There was no way we could get together. 4. After a drunk night, I decided to give him a chance. We had a few dates and knew how to sweet talk, but then the asshole went on exchange and decided -right after I bought tickets to visit him- I wasn’t good enough anymore. 5. He impressed me with his mind and we could talk for hours. He seemed like a great man, but he didn’t live in the same country. I cut him off even though I really was interested in him.. But I just didn’t want to commit on a ldr... 6. I met him at a birthdayparty. I wasn’t looking for anyone, but when he entered, everything felt right. We secretly met every now and then, but he told me he had a fear of commitment and eventually dumped me in the club. Seems like he never really cared about me..
The types of guys who taughts me life lessons [2009/2016] - 19/05/2016 03:02am
25.03.2016 • We lost contact for a few years after I got into a relationship.. And in the end she was right, I was neglecting my friends. Somehow we got into contact again and we decided to meet up again, for a few times. Today we went to this new place with delicious pancakes and cake rolls.
She’s still a lil’ bitch though 😌🍰🍵
18.02.2016 • I remember when we both graduated on high school, back in 2011. How happy we were back then!
Now, around 5 years later, she’s officially graduated, once again 🎓. She got her bachelor for Psychology, and I'm just so happy for her ❤️.
Now it's time for me to graduate quickly as well..
29.01.2016 - 31.01.2016 • Milan, Italy with Joyce.
I went to Milan with Joyce! She's actually Phu's girlfriend, and I met her in the club when she was with him actually. We actually can get along pretty well, so I went to a short trip to Milan with her 😊!
The tickets were so cheap, and the flight took around 1,5 hours. Unfortunately it was raining in Italy, but we still had a lot of fun.
When we arrived at Milan Bergamo Airport, we had to take a bus to Milan City Center. Then we visited the KIKO store and the Mango first before we went to the hotel.
There we rested a bit and then went for dinner: saffron risotto ossobucco and pizza! It was delicious 😍!
The next morning we woke up early. We had to best fresh chocolate croissants for breakfast! Then we went to the Duomo, but we didn't climb it since the weather was bad and we couldn't enjoy the view from up 😒. But still, we shopped a bit and hung around. I also had fresh Italian ice cream, and they were delicious. Even in winter it's always a great idea to eat them 😍! Then we wanted to visit the canals but we actually couldn't find it, so we just had a pot of tea for the rest of the day, in some cute café. For dinner we went to this fancy looking restaurant. The appetizer was actually horrible (and expensive...), but the other dishes were alright 😋.
The following morning we unfortunately had to catch our fight back.. But it was definitely a great trip, and I can't wait for the next one 😁!
29.12.2015 ⋅ The sweetest best friend ever: the one who understands and always supports me. Words actually can't describe how much she means to me 👯❤️.
