OKAY SO re:last post, for context i think these are from the 2021 program books, no one will tell me where exactly, but this is in the same format as the mini interview in the 2019 program book so (ill edit this if im corrected, and also tho this is joo hyun centered, ill still translate young sook’s)
but as the translation goes;
Could you imagine what Mrs Danvers would say to Rebecca if she came back alive?
Shin Young Sook: You’re late, Madam.
Ock Joo Hyun: “Rebecca… why did you make such a choice like that without telling me? Why did you go through sickness alone without telling me? When you were truly suffering in sickness and didn’t tell me [the truth], and then to later tell me to [continue] to live…“
And then Rebecca would answer like this. “To you, whom I love, I didn’t want to suddenly have to tell you about my illness and my scars. It’s because I loved you too much. I’m sorry, Danny.”
She was the only person who could truly call Mrs Danvers “Danny,” wasn’t she? In the original [text], though there are times when Jack Favell calls her Danny, if you don’t read it til the end, you can’t tell that Rebecca was truly the only person who could call her Danny, that’s the truth of it.”
And then the second text;
Is there anything that you would like to say to Mrs Danvers?
Shin Young Sook: “Leave the Manderley mansion and come on a trip with me.”
Ock Joo Hyun: “Because Rebecca was in such a condition that she couldn’t even use her hands, she didn’t want to tell you about it. Because she didn’t want to cause the shock and pain of not being able to do anything [in that situation] for a beloved person, I hope that you can understand that she had no other choice.”
