When people give Kaidan shit about lines like “Big Place”, I think we need to keep in mind that the man gets migraines.

Love to imagine this. New Quest pops up: "Judge the Dread Wolf, He Who Hunts Alone, Lord of Tricksters, Roamer of the Beyond, God of Betrayal...vhenan". Solas is bound only in rope as a courtesy - everyone who knows him knows if he wanted to escape, he could very easily.

i feel very strongly about paragon shepards tbh

i mean its essentially taking the path of lesser death right? you try to solve things without punching people to death - at least most of the time. but its still the same old very tired, very angry and very done shepard but choosing to be respectful, going out of their way to be nice to strangers in the midst of war but still taking no shit and not being afraid to shut a bitch down when needed.

it’s just the basic premise of an angry, broken little human choosing to be better to the world than the world has been to them that i find so admirable.

I love paragon Shepards so much because like… it’s that one human who sees the darkness everywhere, they see the criminal underworld and terrorists and even the bad in bureaucracy and they basically say “I will not stand for this” and through kindness and persistence and, well, charm they make the galaxy better bit by bit

and sure they are sarcastic and sometimes snappy but they are kind to everyone they meet and the world repays that kindness, people actually start pulling together thanks to this human and not because they’re afraid but they want to repay them and basically I love paragon Shepards they are the best

pro-tip: a lot of the time, when an image off google is automatically saving as “.webp” or “.gifv” in order to stop you from using it, you can work around this con pretty easily. all u gotta do it right click and select “open image in a new tab”.

notice how this new tab’s url ends with “.gifv”? or some kind of code converting a normal image to a webp (ex: “.png?type=webp”)? literally just manually edit the url so it just ends at “.gif” or “.png”. delete the “v” or delete the code. then hit enter so the image reloads under this new url, and hit save. it should save correctly this time <3

Thedas, Köppen Climates, and Me, Once Again Thinking too Deep About Dragon Age.

So in honor of Dragon Age Day, I present to you some maps that have come to fruition due to my herb project and all the science explanations about them. So I took the map of Thedas I made and slapped all this together and if this all interests you please continue. Just know 99% of this is generalizations. I’m also just an amateur with an art degree.

So I wanted to know the climates of the areas of Thedas so I could “properly” place the plants and herbs of Thedas. After all nature has specialized niches that need to be filled! You need variety to be resistant to disease and to be able to adapt to the environment. 

This was such a consideration for me as I was looking to flesh out the natural world and since I could break the constraints that come from a game,  such as limiting assets for performance and clarity for the player.

That said, I took concretes in lore that I already knew to inform most of these. From environmental aspects as the Donarks, Seheron, and Par Vollen having jungles. That Ferelden has longer winters than the rest of Thedas. That due to the Blight the Anderfels is harsh steppes and desert.

Another consideration was the flora we knew grew in specific places. Such as coffee growing in Antiva, that meant it had to be in what we would call the Bean Belt. Same with the cinnamon and nutmeg in Seheron. Or that Rivian grows cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and tea leaves.

So with all of that, those influenced my placements of climates as well as my estimation of where Thedas was placed on the globe.

Okay so like, this is a hound right, they're bred for large groups and the bark is more of a bay, and they bay both in their pack (group singalong bonding moment) and also at prey.

This? This is not an unhappy dog. That tail is loose, wagging slowly, and the dog is having fun.

This dog is demanding that their human gets up and does a group singalong with him on the piano (because humans can bark right but perhaps the piano sounds similar enough to him that it passes the vibe check) and she does (which reinforces the behaviour, hilariously).

So yeah, this is a group singalong: hound-dog-style

Inquisitor Appreciation Week

In August we will get back to the last Dragon Age hero, that as not their fully own event (shoutout once more to @rookappreciationweek!) And this last hero is of course our Inquisitor from Dragon Age Inquisition.

Just like with the Warden, Warden Commander, and Hawke, we will celebrate the Inquisitors of Thedas. Like always, this is an event for fanwork featuring your Inquisitor. That means this is a call for fanart, fanfiction, aethetics, stimboards, gifs... Whatever you want!
