one of the cooler parts of growing up is realizing that you were being incessantly lied to throughout highschool and that fat gay people are not only capable of being desired, but are actively and often voraciously lusted after

TDF Rest Day 2
Yeah no I didnât rest. It was a very long day at work so I needed some spinning time. 27.2g today. Looking good for finishing this before the end of TDF.
Tour de Fleece 2026
Life has been kicking my ass the last couple of months but I am finding time to spin, here and there. This is the Northern Lights colorway in Heathered BFL from Greenwood Fiberworks.
Absolute dream to spin and I'll be getting some more in this colorway as soon as I can. Light laceweight, ~250yds so far between this and the other 2ply skein I've just finished.
One of the names that I considered for this pattern was Crossfade, but decided against it because I thought it implied too much about the color. That said, if you want to do a fade for My Ever Changing Moods, but not sure how to go about it, here is what I did.
Each colorway that I selected had a color in it that could be found in the next colorway. (Or, at least, was similar enough.) Slainte and Lavandula have a blue in common. There's a purple in common between the Lavandula and Vegetable Medley. And finally, Vegetable Medley and Cin Cin share an orange.
Will this work 100% of the time? Probably not, but it is a place to start with putting colorways together when I get overwhelmed by choices and nudges me in a direction that I want to go.
Reminder that 20% of the price of My Ever Changing Moods Shawl on Ravelry and Payhip ends on July 28th.
TDF July 22
Finally did my sample for the next breed and plied the other half oz of for the whimsy. This time chain plied. Didn't get them into the bath tonight but I did wash myself and start the dishwasher so that's good!

TdF Day 21
Exuberant rainbow quilt for a beloved friend (alas not quite finished in time for pride month đ€·ââïž)
Finished another thing! Left is Frau Wöllfchen âDancing Aloneâ alpaca/silk, right is Regenbogenwolle âBittersweetâ merino/alpaca/camel/silk blend. Think these together could make a really cute cropped striped cardigan??
Realized I havenât shared an update on this yet. Itâs bigger! I add a couple hexies to it every once in a while. Itâs about 22 inches across.

from natural white combed top corridale wool to socks
another experiment, im still learning how to dye with predictable results. the yarn is 3 ply with two singles spun with z twist and the third with s twist, and then s plyed. it's a technique i tried for the first time that apparently is done for socks to make them more stretchy. can confirm they are very comfy and the yarn looks uneven by itself but even when knitted up
TdF Update (Lost count of days)
No, I have not been lazy since te last update.
I've been spinning away on all projects I introduced at the last post. Each day on every project. I have one bobbin of ~85g of the Blue and a second one of ~60g and 5 1/2 batts still to go for the first half of the fibre
Of the blue-to-light green gradiant I have finished 3 batts (so half the fibre)
And two spindles of the silk are done.
Tomorrow at the spinning group meetup I plan to ply at least the first skein of Blue
I have seen a few sampler quilts with stars that I really liked online so I knew a star quilt would be in my future. Unrelatedly, I had picked up a copy of The Block Book by Judy Martin but I found it has a ton of star patterns. Then, at a quiltersâ garage sale last month, I saw a $1 scrap bag of yellow fabrics. Thatâs serendipity if Iâve ever seen it, so I decided it was time to start my stars.
The first two were directly from the book. The third one is similar to one in the book but it was a 10.25â block and the others were 12â so I decided to tweak it a bit, resize it, and make it a paper pieced pattern. The process would have been far simpler if I had one of those 45 degree rulers, but with a little trigonometry I made it work.
For the layout I have in mind Iâll need about 16 of the 12â stars and 8 or so 6â stars. Right now, I think I will do all of the small stars in that cathedral window style, but weâll see if I change my mind.
Project started June 2026
i love knitting socks and it does bother me when people tell me they are too beautiful to wear bc like. that is the point. im spending time making this thing to keep your feet warm and protected. yes my knitting is art but its also practical. yes it may wear out or rip but its a sock! they are meant to do that. all fabric wears out eventually and id rather someone wear holes in the objects i make and then throw them out when they are not useful as socks anymore then have them sit behind glass on display
This is what I spun on the rest day :) On Sunday I blocked my first ever skein of handspun!!!!! I learned so much, including how welcoming and supportive spinblr is đ I also learned I really like it when there's a thin dark single plied with a light fluffy single. So I'm going to try that out. The dark drown will be my contrast single and then I'm going to figure out how to blend two fibers. Wish me luck đ€
