Thomas’ steps never faltered, though he did tilt his head. "Something the matter?”
He shook his own head, awkwardly catching back up in pace. His gaze wandered back up to meet Thomas', and then he felt.. muddy, again.
"You-..." He kept dancing as best he could with a limp arm, and slowly raised up his good hand with spread out fingers.
"I thought you wanted it as part of the dance... is all."

"I knew you couldn’t resist.” Thomas took Guy’s hand and pulled him into a quick hug accompanied by a pat on the back before letting go. He returned to his goofy dancing.
"..??!"
It took Guy a moment to register, and by that time, Thomas had already let go. He attempted to return to the dancing, but remained slow.
"What was-.." he muttered, asking himself as much as he was the Captain.

Thomas moved his shoulders more, now bringing his arms into it as he did so. “C'mon, you know you want to~” he teased, reaching out a hand to Guy.
"You know what? Fuck you, I do."
He reached out his hand, hovering it over Thomas'.
"Discovery! Some fitting music if you please~" He threw his hand into the Captain's as the ship's AI put on a retro tune in time to their rhythm.

Thomas nodded, almost wanting to unleash a sigh of relief. He had been under the impression that Guy’s condition was much worse. He watched as the ball flew over his shoulder, and caught it with one hand before idly tossing it in the air. “You’re absolutely right. Where would I be without my Commander,” he replied, a grin in his voice. Probably hacked to pieces by a giant insectoid werewolf but he wasn’t going to bring that up.
“Yeah, I’m fine. My shiny dance number in the infirmary was cancelled, but I’ll be more than willing to supply a private performance for you right here and now!” He began shimmying his shoulders.
"With your reflexes? Maybe that's a line of thought we shouldn't venture down. You just got lucky this time."
At least the situation seemed to be easing up. And it'd be a lot easier to go to the infirmary from here on out.
The second Thomas started moving Guy barely kept himself from breaking into hysterics. *"Oh. My. God. Private performance' what are you, a call girl now~?"
He stood up, half wanting to join in but not bringing himself to do much besides crossing his arms while he still snickered hysterically.
"You're despicable. You can't dance for shit but somehow you still pull it off."

“Oh..” he replied, plated fingers involuntarily meeting his mouth slot. That hadn’t been his intention at all. If anything, he thought that he’d been presenting that it was okay to be vulnerable sometimes. Perhaps that’s not what he had accomplished. At the same time, he wasn’t sure the way he handled such situation was something he could turn off. He was the Captain, after all, he couldn’t be sitting in the infirmary bawling over an injury either.
“Commander-…” he caught himself, “Guy. Nobody’s invincible, and I’m more than aware of that. I’m not going to shame anyone for getting fixed up. I suppose I might be a little… intimidating with the way I handle things, but as someone who is responsible for the vessel and everyone in it, I suppose I don’t want anyone to be too terribly concerned.” He gripped his own arm right where the scratch resided. It was hidden by the sleeve of his jacket, but a certain firmness underneath the cloth made it easy to find. “As for my arm, I really am okay. It just needs a week or so to properly heal up. However, the state of your arm has been concerning me quite a bit. The way it shakes… It might harm the way you do things around the ship, including holding a gun. You haven’t even told me what was wrong. I’ve tried to refrain from asking, but…”
A pause.
"The shock scrambled my nerves a bit. Sending bad signals and all that." He glanced down at it, then back up with a shrug. "Doc said about a week with it completely disabled will give them a chance to fill back in properly. I should be right as rain."
After a small moment of deliberation, he chucked the ball just over Thomas' shoulder. "Good thing too. Where would you be without me." He chuckled, before pausing again.
"I'm glad you're okay. I was probably just reading into things too much after.. earlier. Too bad though. I probably missed that fabulous dance number of yours."

“Hm.” Perhaps he hadn’t read the situation properly. He had somewhat been under the impression that he would be in and out of this arrangement, though it wasn’t as though he wanted to avoid Guy. The gold robot was right, though. It had been a moment since they had lowered their formal masks. They’d been rather busy for a few weeks, and though now was supposed to be a relaxing time, the recent S.O.S Kalgan had set off had scrambled that a bit.
“It hadn’t been my intent to make you uncomfortable while you’re getting treated,” he mumbled, confused and concerned.
Another sigh. Guy grabbed a small ball off a nearby shelf, rolling it between his hands.
"Didn't think so. Nothing you.. did, or even said. Just. Who you are, you know? The last thing I want to be is prostrate and helpless on a table while you-..." He paused, lightly shaking his head. "I don’t know. I can't play it off like you can."
We did not decide to become robots. There was an accident in our studio. We were working on our sampler, and at exactly 9:09 a.m. on September 9, 1999, it exploded. When we regained consciousness, we discovered that we had become robots.

Thomas lightly tilted his head. He didn’t believe the matter warranted having to enter the room and talk about it, but maybe he was underestimating he situation. Either way, he felt it rude to pass down such an invitation. He made a single nod. “If you insist,” he said stepping in.
"Oh c'mon Thomas, not everything has to be a formality. When's the last time we actually.. hung out?"
Guy sat down on his bed and looked up at him. He sighed briefly and rubbed the back of his helmet again.
"And if you're still wondering... I. Don't like having to get treated in front of you."

It was difficult to miss how hard Guy was trying to avoid looking at his captain. Thomas only wanted to clarify things, not make him feel any worse. It helped somewhat when the shorter bot admitted that his decisions were reasonable, helping him to at least been aware he hadn’t been handling the situation poorly. Still, Guy continued to appear rather meek with admitting what the root of the problem was. Thomas wasn’t going to force him, but it would help if he knew for future reference.
“I’m not going to make you tell me what the problem is. At the same time, you can’t say I’ve done certain things for asinine reasons myself.” He made an effort to inject humor into his tone to help lighten the mood. He was sure Guy could pull out a list of strange decisions the captain had made, especially after they had gone rogue.
Guy chuckled almost in spite of himself. Did Thomas ever know how to turn off that damn charisma anymore? "Well you're not wrong..."
He finally looked at him, dropping the hand from his neck. He stepped to side and made a sweeping gesture with his hand into the room. "I feel like I should invite you in first instead of making you stand there the whole damn time ."

“I feel like the way I have been going about certain things may have been bothering you.” He sighed, “I’m not your parent, but I do care about you and your well-being, just as you care about mine. I don’t mean to be overbearing, but you are a vital part of this crew, and I’d like to think my decisions are made to benefit you and others aboard this ship.”
Guy rubbed the back of his helmet and looked off to the side for a few moments of silence. Complete denial wasn't exactly an option here.
"You've been making.. perfectly rational and reasonable decisions. It's not you the issue's with."
Still not able to bring himself to face him, he angled his head down. "I bet you want to know why I was so... Resistant, earlier. I suppose I could tell you, but I'm sure you'd think me completely asinine for it."

The way the Commander slunk off, Thomas had been under the impression that something had gone wrong. He thought about it as he went about the ship finishing up anything else that needed to be done such as checking on the ship itself and checking up on anyone else who may have been hurt by the Kalgan attack . After a while, he finally had some time to himself and decided that he should at least day something to Guy.
He arrived at the gold robot’s room, knocking cautiously. "Commander, a word, please.”
"..?"
Guy got up, and languidly strolled to the door. He'd been in here for a few hours... it must finally have been noticeable.
He punched the button to open the door and stared at the Captain, not bothering to straighten up this time. "..Yes?"

As their navigator pointed the Discovery in the right direction, Thomas ran through the list of duties in his mind for anything he might have missed. It was so easy to feel like something was missing whenever there were any sudden stressful events popped up. He was interrupted when Guy stood before him.
"I don’t recall saying such a thing,” he replied, only glancing at him.
"I know. You didn't."
He stood there awkwardly for a moment, his shoulders tensing. "I'll be in my quarters if I'm needed," he said, breaking away and taking long strides towards the elevators leaving the deck. "..You seem to have everything handled."

"Ethyke… I see.” He nodded. “Set a course for Ethyke, then.” If they were lucky, a reward might make its way to them later for finding this man. He made a short glance to his arm. “It’s just a scratch. And yours?”
He winced. The navigator got to work punching in the coordinates while Guy had trouble finding his voice.
"No harrowing adventures for me for the next week or so and I should be fine..~" He laughed. Somehow.
A pause followed. He stood up, turned around, and took a step towards Thomas as he stood straight as he could manage. "..Is there something you wish to speak with me about... Sir."

In the meantime, Thomas tended to all his plants and then proceeded with any unattended duties. He double-checked to make sure that Kalgan was kept reasonably sedated, and alerted the cleaning crew to the mess in the quarters, in case they hadn’t been aware. He had learned the man had been infected with some sort of odd virus, causing him to change whenever his fight or flight response had kicked in, and so some of their science team had decided to take on finding a cure, and possibly the origin of the disease. The captain didn’t mind their endeavors, just as long as nobody was hurt… or infected in the process.
When he was done, he returned to the deck, ready to talk to their navigator. Upon his entry, he noticed that Guy had a cast on. Thomas couldn’t say he was ecstatic, but he was at least satisfied that the commander got his arm tended to. However, he remained irritated about how defiant the other had been about it in the first place. However he tried not to dwell on it, getting back to the matter at hand, which was getting rid of Kaglan as quickly and as humanely as possible.
“So where do you suggest we take our guest, Commander.”
"Ethyke is the nearest stop that might have the resources to deal with this, Captain." He fidgeted with his fingers slightly. Something about the Captain's tone still seemed... unhappy. "Or... at least the means to get him somewhere that does."
He paused. "..how's your arm, Sir?"

”…if you insist.“ Thomas replied, skeptical. He watches as his arm was done being stitched.
"Alright, all done. Try not to disturb it and you should be fine.”
“I wouldn’t dream of it.” With that, Thomas draped his jacket over his arm and headed to his quarters. He knew he had gotten some off the goo on himself as well and figured he should clean up to, as well as catch himself before going back on deck. He got on a change of clothes and took a moment to mist a few of his terrariums.
"...ohthankgod" he muttered to himself, and marched off. He hadn't actually expected that to work.
Over an hour later, he reappeared back on deck with his arm in something resembling a splint preventing him from moving it. But at least it was no longer shaking
