I feel like we don't often see Danny 'take charge', your post about the lack of filter power has me like waaiiit keep cooking
Oh man. Danny is just WAITING to have some kind of power he doesn’t normally have over someone.
Ghost boy who gets his ass kicked even with ghost powers who has insecurities about being a loser/weak? Give him the chance and he’ll take it. We see it when he’s getting back at Dash (slamming him roughly into lockers). And in torrent of terror when he gleefully takes up the roll of ‘spoiled nephew’ to his ‘Unky Vlad’ because he’s in control now. And he’s using that power over someone he sees as an enemy (so it’s totally ethical to boss him around and punish him with storm clouds if he doesn’t get his way).
Torrent of terror also just solidified to me that given the chance he would keep Vlad whipped. And even if Vlad was over it by the end of the episode, he honestly didn’t seem that mad to be doing Danny’s bidding. It’s more like he didn’t want the storm clouds. But if Danny stepped on him/used him as a footstool… man there are some things Vlad learned about himself that day. He likes it when Danny is powerful (like him) and uses it to hurt him. He antagonizes it for a reason!
But as for the no filter thing man… he would keep saying things like
“I uh! I didn’t mean to say that!” But everytime Danny did anything slightly powerful he’d just blurt out
“Why don’t you take that belt and-“ covers his own mouth trying to get himself to SHUT UP cause he needs Danny’s help to get this ghost to give him his filter back.
After getting past the ‘did Vlad just ask me to do X thing to him’ ick, Danny would try to goad it out of him. Vlad would be bitching at him and Danny would snap,
“Would you just shut up.”
Vlad’s cheeks would redden as he forces himself to not speak, hand practically in his own mouth.
“It’s your fault you’re in this mess and I’m doing you a favor by helping you out,” Danny pushes him back, Vlad just looks at him wide eyed, “now is there anything you need to tell me Unky Vlad? Or do I need to teach you a lesson.”
Vlad’s mouth wants to speak before he can stop it. So he lets out a desperate “please,” before holding his face in his hands, “…. please kill me Daniel.” Vlad can be aware of his own desires but that doesn’t mean that he wants Daniel to be privy to his enjoyment of rough treatment.
Maybe Danny will help him get his filter back. Maybe he won’t. Maybe he’ll just see how far this can go- because it’s clear that he has a power over Vlad that he didn’t even know about. Who could just give that up so soon?
