pathetic fallacy ✖ Kuranosuke + Yuno
"No good.. This weather looks pretty bad." The blonde sighed heavily. Lavender hues darted upwards as the sky greyed, the dark clouds now hiding the sun as if wishing to keep it’s light and warmth all for themselves. What else had he expected? It was nearing the end of February. Sky showers were to be expected. He should have checked the forecast on his cellphone at least. He tapped his phone until it lit up to check the weather. Better late than never.
Kuranosuke was in full drag today. He’d spent such a long time in front of the mirror doing his makeup that it would put him into a sour mood if it were to be ruined now. He clicked his tongue and tapped his heel impatiently on the floor as he frowned up at the heavens. The streets were clearing of people who wanted to avoid getting wet and this unexpected weather was putting a damp on his investigation. He’d been on every street in the Clock District today, pestering nearly everywhere by thrusting his cellphone into people’s faces to inquire about a certain someone’s whereabouts.
He was free to ask people on the streets but once he walked into a shop and started harassing the customers he was soon asked to leave. He could count on one hand how many places he’d been kicked out of today for being a nuisance.
"Tch! Like I’m gonna let that stop—Oof!" With his attention caught elsewhere, he’d started to walk without paying much attention to what was ahead of him. He’d already assumed no one would be around at this point so he hadn’t given it much thought. He’d knocked shoulders with someone and had been startled back into awareness to stare down at the girl.
He blinked. His long false eyelashes fluttering as he stared at the girl dumb-founded like he was stuck in some daze. The girl apologized to him but something about the look in her eye seemed.. irritated, maybe? The blonde was more caught off guard by that more than knocking into the stranger.
"Er, well…" He rubbed at his shoulder. "I guess it was both our mistake. I wasn’t paying attention." He folded his arms over his chest, pressing his slender arms into the soft padding on his chest. "Soo.. Are you alright? You look terrible." Scary, rather. It was one of the reasons he hadn’t yet thrust his cellphone in her face. Speaking of that..
"Oh, hey. Let me have a minute of your time if you’re free."
Despite the fact that she tried her best to be polite with everyone she met, she just didn’t feel like doing that today. Hiding behind her façade of smiles was no longer as easy as it was at school, where she didn’t have to face many social situations. Most of the time, she would just avoid conversation and only make the slightest eye contact with others. It was best when contact was avoided by all means, because that meant that she wouldn’t have to add any more names to the list of people that she despised and wished death upon.
As the rain began to intensify and begin to drown the streets, she female allowed a small smile to form on her lips. She hated when the days were bright and sunny, and she especially hated when white snowflakes would flutter about in the breeze. It was especially annoying when she had to go to school in that type of weather. Sometimes, she was found skipping several days in a row in order to avoid having to go outside. That usually worked alright for her, seeing that her schooling in Japan provided her with more than enough foundation to keep her well educated without having to show up to her classes.
Tests and assignments came; she would have to drag herself to that dreaded place no matter what. It was truly horrific. But the rain, she didn’t mind the rain one bit. She grew up living behind metal bars, watching the droplets fall from the sky, counting the seconds before her mother would come and whip her until she passed out into pure bliss. How she wished she could have stayed asleep forever, not ever knowing the harms of the world. Not having to become the murderer that she was today.
Staring towards the other female, she couldn’t help but feel something was a little off about her. Then again, she shouldn’t be one to judge, seeing that her posture and voice were nothing but welcoming - Quite rude, actually. She didn’t find it strange that she seemed to be talking to herself; after all, she did that plenty when she was alone in her apartment. The girl she stared at seemed to have plenty of makeup on her face, which looked as if it was about to all wash off if she didn’t hurry to the nearest shaded area.
Well, that wasn’t Yuno’s concern now, was it? Running a hand through her already wet hair, the girl shrugged her shoulders. She had to hold back from shooting the blonde a snarky remark as an answer towards the question she had posed. It was a small bump, it wasn’t like she had just been stabbed with a knife – And even if she had been stabbed, she would probably stand up and walk it off.
Raising a single eyebrow, her facial expressions showed no means of friendliness, “and may i ask why i look terrible?”
Though she acted as if the comment had never gotten to her, she knew that, deep down; she was lying if she said it didn’t hurt her. Through the many years of being abused, just the simplest of things would make her mood turn sour. Glancing at her watch, she crossed her arms, trying not to sigh in annoyance.
“I guess I have a few minutes, what do you want?"
