“Stephen” like many characters Stephen likes to play was repressed/in the closet/ambiguously gay. I mean, if you watch any segment something gay tends to happen. There was also the ’How To Ruin Same-Sex Marriage’ segment where “Stephen” details a plan to make a gay man fall for him to the point that they are going to get married only to say no on the wedding day but its very obvious “Stephen” actually falls for the guy (who is named Jonathan, has blue eyes, and is Jewish. Idk who THAT’S based on) and it breaks “Stephen” that he broke Jonathan’s heart and he cries throughout the segment.

“Stephen Colbert” is a repressed/closeted gay conservative Republican.
