Transformation
There was not much leadership at first glance, past the slave owners/extreme authoritarian style. However Solomon carried himself with the abilities of a leader. It was described that Solomon was somewhat of a leader among the slaves and he also showed leadership of his masters. He showed insight of finding how to get people to believe in him and his cause.

Freedom
The year after my letter was carried by Samuel I was found by Henry. Henry is the son of the man who freed my father from slavery and we share our names because of this act.
At last a chance
I have had several failed attempts to contact my family in the north or to escape my slavers. I have encountered a man from Canada while building a house for Epps. This man, Samuel Bass, has agreed to pass along a letter for me to the north. It is now 1852, 11 years after my capture.
4 years in
Epps is moving us to a larger plantation. Issues with the mistress continue. Epps now hires us out to other farmers for jobs that they need done. I am hired to play my violin at some of their dinner parties. It has been a long time since I have been allowed to play, the last time was with my first master William Ford.
New plantation same story
After a brief stint with the sugar cane fields I got sold again to Edwin Epps. A cotton farmer. This man is not as nice as John Tibeats. He is sleeping with several of his slaves. Mistress Epps is often angry with him.
Some Issues with Tibeats
Got into a fight with the master. A man can only take so much abuse. After attempting to run away I get hired out to cut sugar cane. It has now been over a year since my capture.
Sold again.
William Ford was a nice, caring man. Very religious. This new man goes by the name of Tibeats. He wants me to do some carpentry work.
Made it to Louisiana. I was just sold off to a plantation owner by the name of William Ford. I’m getting my first taste of cotton farming.

They have taken my name from me. I have professed my innocence and freedom multiple times but they will not listen to me. I have now lost my, my identity, and my freedom
They are moving us
I was placed in pens with others. The slavers are taking us somewhere else farther south. I heard them mention New Orleans. Merrill and Abram were working with this new guy, James Burch.
This blows
Just woke up in a strange place with people yelling at me. Starting to think those new friends were not very friendly.
Made some new friends
These performers were admiring my skill with the fiddle. They invited me to travel and perform with them.
