Been reflecting on a dialectic that’s ruled my internal world in so many ways: That of self-discipline and self-compassion. When discipline overwhelms compassion I experience a great deal of misery and discontent. When compassion overwhelms discipline passivity can become the normal state of things, an unwillingness to experience the discomfort which is a source of growth. For me, discipline often overwhelms compassion and I have to circle back to find kindness for myself. It gets easier with experience! I’m still learning like we all will be until we die. How does one change without turning themself into an enemy?

I’ve admittedly been in my own head the last couple weeks, and I’m just so grateful to have hardcore as a community in my life that makes a space where I can just empty my brain and go cave-girl mode. Always feel so relieved leaving shows.
