you are not immune to inventing an arbitrary set of rules that only you have to adhere to
vintage 1986 alvarez electric violin
Life hack: Free up mental space by getting rid of easy decisions. Your brain has a limited amount of decision making energy each day. The more you spend it on small things like what to wear, what to eat, when to work out, the less you have for the decisions that actually matter. Create routines. Plan your meals. Wear the same few outfits. Automate what you can
The fewer unnecessary decisions you make, the more mental energy you have for the ones that move your life forward
Bought a natural brown toned freckle pen and every time I stamp on natural freckles I’m instantly serving face
i’m such a details person i hate vagueness so much let’s be PRECISE
Honestly I especially support self-absorption in cases where someone comes from a negative, broken home life and has practically needed to be their own cheerleader to wrench themself out of whatever self-deprecating thought loops their family has contributed to. When all you’re taught is negative self-speak, when you grew up being constantly compared or verbally berated or told you’re not good enough, you literally need to go out of your way to outgrow that thinking. And I do think that starts with turning the lens on yourself, romanticizing your life, constantly affirming to yourself that you are worthy of space and time and whatever your heart desires. You literally have to constantly hype yourself up where no one else has. It’s quite literally necessary.
And yes, it goes without saying that founding confidence on a basis of action is invaluable to this. We should be doing that too. But when you were literally automated to diminish all the good and focus on all the bad, that takes mental reframing that we have to be very intentional about as well. Those things go in tandem with each other. That’s why I never find it cheesy when people are openly proud and sing their own praises. 80% of people were not raised to think this way, and had to instead really grow into it. I do truly find it necessary in the process of unlearning self-flagellation as your default.
@legallybrunettedotcom this literally happens so often to me btw
