The first time is the moment he laid eyes on her. It’s awful, really, and he knows that, but looking through the slot in the door at the gorgeous girl who had just been waiting for a rescue, he couldn’t help but notice his heart pounding a little faster. She’s got fight and spirit, and a light in her eyes that make Eggsy grin all too widely. He knew he had to touch her, just once, feel the fire that he saw in those eyes. He was blown away by the second, when he actually got a phone call from the princess. They’d been texting about stupid things, sending dumb selfies back and forth, but this was their first call. The first time Eggsy had heard her voice since V-Day. They had talked for hours, until Eggsy was grasping at straws, doing anything he could to keep her talking so he could just listen to her. He could have listened to her talk for eternity - listened to the passion in her voice when she told him eagerly about her country, about her life. Shit, he was in deep, wasn’t he?The third time was coming home from a mission, covered in things he didn’t want to think about. The sewer had been a god awful idea. But he came in and started teasing her, demanding a kiss. And by god if she didn’t lean in. He jerked back before she could touch his, but a grin pulled at his lips. “You’d really kiss me like this? Now that’s love right there.” She’s grinning and laughing back at him, shooing him off to change. The fourth time was watching her on his phone screen, seeing her freeze with the blue stained on her face. His heart stopped completely. He couldn’t lose her, he couldn’t. Even if they never got back together, knowing that she was healthy, happy, living her life with out him– It hurt less than the idea of the world losing a shining star, a gift like her.The fifth was watching her walk down that aisle. She was radiant, with a smile as blinding as the sun. He found that the minute she’d stepped foot into the elegant church, he wasn’t able to take his eyes off her. In that moment, it was all clear, it all sank in just how much he adored her. She was his everything, and would continue to be until his last breath. He took her hand and slipped the ring on her delicate finger, murmuring out ‘I do’. He very nearly jumped in and kissed her before prompted to when she returned those two little words. As they had their first dance together, staring into each other’s eyes, Eggsy knew this was right where he was meant to be.
