While Harry’s old house had been demolished it wasn’t too hard for Lee to find where his son lived these days. Not with his mother, which was frankly all Lee needed. Finishing off the pint he’d nicked from a pub along the way he sat it down, the amber liquid that left a ghostly trace in the bottom of the glass tempting him to find more. Without looking up at Eggsy he tried his best to explain. “I went and talked to your mum, she...she at first thought I was trying to trick her. Expected tha’, so I started telling her stories. How we met, stuff like that. I think she believes me, but, she said she couldn’t handle me. Handle this.”
He’d been warned about this, both Harry and Merlin pulling him aside to warn him that so much had happened in their twenty years apart. “I...I was hopin’ you’d check in on her when you had the chance.”
Finally turning to look at Eggsy he sighed, his weariness bellying his true age despite the young face. “I didn’t mean to break in, I just thought it would look better than your old man drinking on your steps. I can go...I just needed to ask.”
