The star of the tropical glasshouse at this time of year is the vigorous, evergreen climber Strongylodon macrobotrys (jade vine, emerald creeper) from the Philippines. The amazingly coloured blue-green flowers hang in racemes up to 90cm in length.

fun fact!!! if it grows in alkaline rich environments, tayabak (the native name for this plant) is purple instead of its normal green!!!
