Yep, Netflix really did that.
what does an lgbt show have to do to not get cancelled by Netflix, that’s pose (96% critic rating on rotten tomatoes) teenage bounty hunters (91%), everything sucks (71%, with 92% audience score),I’m not okay with this (87%), one day at a time (100%), sense 8 (86% with 91% audience score), the society (86%). all of these shows have had hella high ratings, and so many news outlets singing their praises, netflix also seems to promote their lgbt shows so much less than their straight ones, how many ads have you seen for riverdale or to all the boys I’ve loved before or the kissing booth, how many of y’all knew about teenage bounty hunters before the gifsets on here. and tbh wasn’t even featured in the lgbt section on Netflix. a lot of these shows are cancelled after one season because they never give them the chances to do well compared to some other shows especially when they’re as questionable as riverdale has been
Jenji Kohan deserves fucking better. She singlehandley placed Netflix on the map with Orange is the New Black. And now two of her shows: GLOW and Teenage Bounty Hunters are cancelled.
Fuck Netflix for cancelling 2 good shows with interesting storylines and LGBT+ characters
Netflix really is trash as hell. They cancel 90% of the lgbtq shows they put out. Stop giving us shows/characters to care about if you aren't planning to keep them around for more than 1 season, it's not cute
Ugh why has Netflix cancelled teenage bounty hunters and GLOW?! This sucks. They were great shows with great female characters and they gave representation to the LGBT community and many others.
Why Netflix, WHY?!?!!?
God Valerie your gay is showing
if anyone has a bootleg of the prom obc (specifically izzy and caitlin), please please please link me! i’m willing to trade but i don’t have a very interesting list :)
Polish newspaper "gazeta poska" which is strongly connected to the government (receiving donations) is going to distribute "lgbt free zone" stickers. They look surprisingly familiar...what can it be...? Oh yeah
1925, areas free of people of color in America
1933, areas free of jews in Germany
2019, areas free of lgbtq+ people in Poland
Well.
Netflix cancelled One Day At A Time.
Which sucks.
This show provided much needed and important representation for so many people.
It told stories in beautiful and real ways that could make you laugh and cry and empathise with the characters.
All the characters were three-dimensional and not just living up to a stereotype.
WE NEED SHOWS LIKE THIS
Just watched this week’s CTM and I have feelings...
> Is it just me or is Violet (sorry, Councillor Buckle) really irritating this season? I’ve really not been a fan of hers recently
> Sister Francis is so precious and must be protected at all costs
> Same for Sister Monica Joan- she is a gem
> Nurse Crane had better be back next week, the mothers (and Sargent Wolf’s) of Poplar miss her
> DON’T TAKE MAY, unless this is will lead to the Turner’s being the best foster family ever in which case I might be persuaded that this was necessary
> Trixie, Lucille and Val are a team to be reckoned with
> Love Trixie fighting to get services to help more patients
> Lucille and Cyril are a cute couple (even if it mean she’s temporarily forgotten about Val *cough*Valcille*cough*)
> Also Val is gay/bi/ in some way attracted to women, nothing can change my mind. This is a fact.
> VAL, ugh I feel for her. She was devastated. Those scenes were so well acted though
Girls like girls and professionally filmed full-length broadway musicals
very true words haha
