Apologies, this was supposed to go up yesterday.

Finishing up some of the missions in the Scorched Desert Elseth overhears Abdel Daoud and the mysterious Berihun discussing stolen mystic artifacts, and later Amparo Osorio sends her off investigating the seemingly biblical plagues sweeping the region. Of course there's also some battling mummies and tracking down of Orochi drones as well. Fun times.

Making a quick trip back into town Elseth swings back around to Zhara's cafe and this time we're seeing what the proprietor has to say. Of course it's largely nothing good seeing as how we're sent to do something about the horrible living oil that transforms humans into monsters. Oh and we also deal with a plague of locusts so fun times yes.

A pair of archaeologists from the Oxford Occult Department await Elseth at the dig site in the Scorched Desert. They send her into the ruins searching for some clue as to the hidden city in the mountains to the north. Like all good Egyptian ruins this involves solving some puzzles as well as a mummy, but first she has to save a lock from a giant mud golem because of course. Fun times.

We met Khalid earlier during the Black Sun storyline briefly but now we circle around to talk to him directly and boy is there a lot of murky backstory with this guy. Also a lot of references to the book of Exodus filtered through the lens of The Secret World.

Way back in 1999 one of my favorite RPGs of all time came out, Planescape: Torment. It had everything I wanted, a fantastic script, interesting and complex companions, novel ways to progress through the game (you can literally talk your way through the main boss at the end of the game), and some decent reactivity for the time. It was reviewed fantastically, won awards, and people still talk about it in glowing terms to this day. Then, of course, we didn't get anything quite like it ever again.

Well that is until 2013 when Brian Fargo and inXile entertainment got together a good number of the creative minds behind Torment and decided to Kickstart a 'spiritual sequel' called Torment: Tides of Numenera. At least that's what all of us backers were betting on and now we finally have a chance to play the game. Here's my first look at the Beta/Early Access version of Tides of Numenera.

Not only is The Hidden Fortress a great movie in its own right it’s also enlightening to watch if you’re a fan of the original Star Wars films. There’s a lot of very striking similarities between it and A New Hope, particularly in the first third of the film.
