I find myself trapped in memories,
missing past versions of me
past relationships
how come we meet so many different people in our life
every one of them
touching our souls on a different level
it feels like my heart is shaped by everyone touching it
carrying dozens of connections
reminiscing every touch
every laughter shared
memories that where once moments rushing by without being treasured, disappearing in daily life.
i always hoped to enjoy every second of these moments while they happen
just to be once again reminded
that the nostalgia itself is what gives the moments it’s meaning, while turning them into memories.
I feel scattered
scattered all over different cities
different houses
different streets.
how come i never feel home?
what is home?
who is home?
I feel so trapped in the melancholic memories of the past.
it feels like there are so many versions of myself
every part of life so full of different people
different emotions
different me?
but either way
no matter where I rest my head at night
the darkness always finds me
I can’t run fast enough to escape
the darkness feels familiar
maybe in darkness i found my home long time ago.

“I am not actually tired, but numb and heavy, and can’t find the right words. All I can say is: Stay with me, don’t leave me.”
— Franz Kafka, from “Letters to Felice.”
