I think people need to understand that the Scree, or the Great Serpent of Ronka specifically, can be pretty terrifying in like this sort of unexpected way. Are they silly blobs? Definitely. Are they actually divine? Probably.
I did headcanon them that their Peculiar light can also be a straight up devastating holy laser like Pokemon Hyper Beam style?

Hear me out: What if I make Nova's astrology sign Cancer just so her modern AU can throw the crab rave meme at every chance she gets?
So the artist in me wants to just cover this in case there's questions: Nova's hairstyle is pretty much meant to be drawn the same was as Zero from Drakengard 3. Which can be very confusing because of the layers. I was pretty attached to this concept ever since I've seen it, and I finally got to use it when Nova was created. HOWEVER if you(for some reason) wanted to draw her, plain long hair is fine too. Another variation is using Homura Akemi's hair where it's winged/split at the center to give a similar effect.
When I finally draft Nova's Star Guardian outfit and I accidentally gave her the cyan and violet colors that Aphelios has on his fricking scarf. Woops.
When I mean draft I mean, super messy pen sketching with my 14 pack Paper Mate InkJoy set on my planner because it's been a stressful work week and more.

By name, serpent can refer to a snake, in Asian culture it resembles the mythical tsuchinoko. The irony behind it all is what is a myth when this world had individuals encountering gods and supernatural beings?
Kyui blinked its little eyes at James, as if contemplating his words like he was currently under god's judgement. Could this serpent understand his words? If it was its white counterpart(?) it would have moved instictively. Mochi was more skittish, but Kyui? Somehow very bold for a very small snake.
Another long moment dragged out, before it finally rolled---yes, rolled off his jacket. Why yes hyur-person, you may take your covering, I would like to know what a 'store' is.
The soldier offered a small smile as he waited, keeping his gaze upon the stripped snake that had claimed his jacket as its throne. If there was one thing that he knew about this little guy, it was that it was incredibly smart and seemed to understand human speech, which, really worked in his favor. Once the serpent rolled off his jacket – a sight rather amusing that he had to stifle a laugh – the brown haired man slowly stood up, picking up the article of clothing then putting it on, only to give it a little shake before zipping it up a quarter of the way.
Crouching down once more, he motioned over to himself, specifically the opening of said jacket.
" C'mere, plenty of space to carry ya in there. I was only goin' to go get some essentials but perhaps I can add a snack for you as well, hm? "
When it was presented the jacket opening, it was perplexed. Beady black eyes blinking as it wobbled side to side to perceive the gesture. The elf lady that took it in wore layers, but nothing like this, she was a bit more elegant in her manner of dress.
However it managed to process it quickly, recalling how Jame's white cat would climb into that very same spot. Putting two and two together it had calculated that if the cat does it: therefore it must be comfy. It sprung up straight into the opening, burrowing itself it before turning its body to pop its head out.
...not bad.
"Scree?"
The striped chubby snake appears to be curled on a wrinkled pile of cloth. Upon closer inspection, it's an article of clothing. It may belong to someone, but it's hard to really tell it refuses to budge.
"Scree!"

He had put his jacket onto the bed before he stepped away to feed his cat, only to find the rotund serpent had settled upon it, looking rather cozy even. The soldier's brow slowly raised as he approached the side of the bed, hands coming to rest upon his hips for a moment before a small sigh left him. I'm not huge on music themes, I always get to finicky with them.
However, I have no idea why, but whenever I think of songs for Nova. Hollow Knight comes to mind, mainly just the slow and beautiful themes. I think it gives that sort of melancholy yet beautifully orchestrated melodies that encompasses how she sees the world. It is beautiful and cruel at the same time, but alive.

Aside from herbology and medicine mixing, Nova has a little hobby with stone carving that stems from her childhood. It started out as an habit/anxiety reliever to help her focus when she was younger. Let's be real, you live in Targon you have to make your own hobbies, especially when you have to live in hiding because you got a bunch of Sun worshippers hunting your people due to religious differences.
I like to think some priests noticed little Nova chipping away at discarded glass, stone, and moonsilver bits out of habit. It's hard to really understand the mind of a little Lunari girl that lost her parents way too soon, and had no other support figures in her life. Not to mention she had her head was full of voices that she couldn't understand just yet so she needed something louder than them at the time.
So she ends up being gifted a little moonsilver tool set so she can make smoother finishes with the stones she collected. Over the course her years, she got pretty dang good at making crescent moons and charms, which led to the Moondreamer pendants that hang from her waist. They can come in different colors because it's all dependent on what she managed to collect. At some point she ended up cutting up a geode since they look like normal rocks on the outside and that provided her with so much to work with!
Currently she still does it for fun, but it gets to a point that, like the plants, she's got so many hanging in her room and window. She also gifts charms to people in order to ward off things like pesky Targonian Nargles/Greebles, which she claims will buzz into your head and make you forget what you need to do. The rest seems to be more like spiritual and metaphysical properties.
Whether or not this is true remains to be seen, but it's kinda hard to say to no to her.

Let it be known that HEARTSTEEL!Nova is your typical rose-haired sweetie that loves sweets, pastel colors, usually wears the cutest girlypop clothes. Overall just the cutest little whimsical bean who can't do anything wrong. (proclaimed)
Meanwhile her top faves are Pentakill and whatever Viego's deal is and she's a chaos gremlin ready to put a bucket of ice over your door if you're her friend(and easy to prank).
